Hot 1079's own Jazzy McBee at the Warrick Dunn Foundation-"Home For the Holidays"


Hot 107.9′s own Jazzy McBee and the Hot 107.9 team was there to capture an Atlanta woman receive a house full of furniture, a fully stocked refrigerator and a $5,000 check toward a down payment on her home thanks to former NFL star Warrick Dunn.

Dunn presented Janice Cantrell with the gift Thursday as part of his “Home for the Holidays” project started in 1997. Since then, the Warrick Dunn Family Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in furnishings and $500,000 in down payment assistance to single-parent families in Atlanta, Baton Rouge, La., and Tallahassee and Tampa, Fla.

Dunn started the program in honor of his mother, Betty Smothers, a Baton Rogue police officer who was killed during an armed robbery nearly 20 years ago. Also in attendance Thursday were former President Jimmy Carter, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Judge Hatchett,  Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, and Jackie Joyner Kersee
