[ATLANTA, GA] 100 Black Men of America, Inc. (100BMO), will be joined by the metroAtlanta chapters to deliver the Community Empowerment Project (CEP), an initiative created in 2004 to ensure that the city where the 100 convenes its Annual conference receives a social and societal impact that is sustainable by the community. This year 100 Black Men will present a Family Enrichment Day that includes a Robotics Exhibition & Showcase, FREE health screenings, health information, interactive games and giveaways for family members of all ages. TheAtlanta community is invited to learn about the exciting robotics programs in the metroAtlanta area. Meet area students and 100 Black Men mentees who are excelling in science, technology, engineering and math courses. Parents can talk to collegiate students and recent graduates who are successfully pursing STEM-related careers. Attendees will learn the positive results of robotics mentoring programs and benefit from the health services and education that will be offered including: sickle cell screenings, breast cancer screenings and blood pressure screenings, along with valuable information on HIV/AIDS, strokes, pulmonary and diabetes.

Many agencies and health educators will come together as one to support this Family Enrichment Day. The 2012 CEP Sponsors include: American Red Cross, The Coca-Cola Company, CDC, CIA, EMC² Corporation, General Motors, US Marine Corps, Scholastic, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Majic 107.5/97.5.

“The CEP is the 100’s signature community outreach component of the annual conference, stated Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Chairman, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. “Themed The 100 As One, the conference will unite members with a host of volunteers and partners to empower the Atlanta community.” Families are invited to participate in this event designed to inspire young people for future success. This event is free and the public is encouraged to come early so they can take part in all the health screenings and obtain information from all participating health services organizations. Free giveaways, music, refreshments and a day of family fun will take place as sponsors, community partners, youth, families and the 100 Black Men come together as ONE.
