Popular 90s rapper Coolio spent most of that decade in a gangster’s paradise. His son Grtis Ivey was sentenced to a minimum of three and a half years in criminal’s paradise, otherwise known as prison, for robbery.

Earlier in the year, we reported Grtis and a prostitute friend of his forced their way into a Las Vegas apartment by brandishing a firearm. Ivey pressured the tenant into the bathroom while the prostitute tossed the place looking for valuables. For his crimes, Grtis Ivey was sentenced to 42-120 months in prison. According to the Clark County District Attorney, Ivey must serve a minimum of 42 months, but if the court sees fit, can keep him in prison for the full ten year bid.

The sentence is light compared to what Ivey was originally charged with. In the beginning, Ivey was charged with multiple felonies. He struck a deal with the prosecution and plead guilty to felony robbery in exchange for the other felony charges to be withdrawn. Grtis Ivey has been in the custody of law enforcement since his initial arrest and will be credited with time served.
