Lately actor/comedian Katt Williams has been in the press and in police precincts more than he’s been on comedy stages.

Due to his recent string of run-ins with the law, many have slapped Williams with the label of crazy. His friend, Suge Knight, says Katt Williams isn’t crazy, just short-tempered.

While some people have blamed Katt’s recent bad behavior on drugs, Suge denies that and offers another reason. Knight says Katt’s erratic behavior is in response to harassment he receives from fans. “People test him because he’s small and the best comedian of all time.”

Knight goes on to explain that it isn’t easy being a vertically challenged comedian known for playing a pimp. Suge takes it a step further by comparing Williams’ “drama moment” to those of Richard Pryor and Mike Tyson.

“When people see him, they don’t separate the Katt Williams on stage from the Katt Williams just being a regular person,” said Suge. “That’s what happens when you’re the best in the business. Sometimes you just have rough times.”

Suge pointed to the Seattle bar fight Katt Williams was just involved in as an example. According to Suge, he and Williams were at the bar watching the Seattle Seahawks take on the Chicago Bears when things got heated. Local patrons got irate with Katt because he was rooting for Chicago. Suge says because the locals didn’t approve of Williams’ football affiliation, they picked a fight with the comedian.

Knight concluded his defense of Williams with, “Things like that happen to Katt all the time where people start with him. He just don’t take no sh*t.”
