Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality star Lil Scrappy checked into rehab today (Mary 29) after admitting that his addiction to marijuana has left his life spiraling out of control. The ATL rapper, born Darryl Richardson, spoke to reporters earlier today about his decision to enter a 30-day rehabilitation program.

“I don’t blame the judicial system for me being in my situation,” Scrappy said.  “I’ve put all fingers on myself.  I have a will power that God blessed me with, but I wasn’t able to use it because of my addiction.”

Scrappy received three years of probation for a 2008 marijuana arrest. After failing a drug test, a DeKalb County judge gave Scrappy the option of serving the rest of his time in jail, or to enter rehab. He wasted no time and entered rehab today at an undisclosed location.

The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cameras were rolling during Scrappy’s press conference when he was asked if this was part of a publicity stunt.

“I don’t feel good about this,” he said.  “This ain’t– this ain’t the best thing for me to be sitting up here telling people I’m going to rehab. That’s not something I had in store in my brain for my life.”

Scrappy added that he wants to be a better man and father. He has a daughter, whom he says is very disappointed in him.

He tweeted this before entering rehab:
