 WHATMARCH, RALLY &VIGIL for Justice for Trayvon

 When:     Saturday, July 20, 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

(March from 6pm to 7pm; Rally/Vigil from 7-8:30pm)

Where:    We will march from the Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060 (corner of S. Marietta Parkway and Fairground St) at 6pm

to Glover Park in Marietta Square where the Rally/Vigil will be Held

WHY:  To bring together all community members of Cobb County and surrounding counties to share their outrage and grief regarding the unjust George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin verdict which reflects the great racial inequities in our society, and to channel our constructive anxiety and energy into reforming our law enforcement, justice, political and educational systems in this county, state and country to reflect and bring equity to our great racial and cultural diversity.

OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN RACES and CULTURES AND PROMOTE RACIAL HEALING, UNDERSTANDING AND HEALING WITHIN OUR COMMUNITIES, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES AND WITH OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ELECTED OFFICIALS!!!

(Note: This event is organized by the Cobb Coalition which is comprised of the Cobb SCLC Chapter, the Cobb Immigrant Alliance, and other human and civil rights groups and individuals, in coordination with the nationwide call by Civil Rights Leaders for such events to be held in at least 100 cities on this day.)

WHO:  YOU!!!! We invite all residents and especially youth to come out and participate. Please feel free to bring signs, hoodies, skittles and whatever other symbols you wish. (Note: this will be peaceful and non-violent in the spirit of Dr. King .)
