In the days since his nine-hour tour bus stand-off with Oklahoma City Police, 2 Chainz seems to have put his legal woes in perspective.

“The devil been busy, boy! Shake him off,” the Atlanta-native told a crowd of fans and industry supporters in his hometown on Monday, in reference to the incident. “We still gon’ do numbers. And they can’t stop this sh*t. We prayed over, over here. It’s been a long time coming.”

2 Chainz used a listening party for his sophomore album “B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time,” to address the August 22 arrest for the first time. While he never referenced the incident directly, it was the very first thing he mentioned shortly after arriving at the event, held at new Atlanta hot spot Prive.

“Tonight means so much to me right now because I missed my first listening party in New York,” the artist formerly known as T*ty Boy said before playing select cuts from the album. “I come from an urban challenged background. But I was just telling my n*gga, right now, it don’t even feel like we used to sell drugs. And right now, I got a song called ‘Crack,’ but I ain’t got crack on my tour bus.”

With the support of several of the producers who contributed to the album, including DJ Toomp, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Drumma Boy, 2 Chainz proceeded to play the majority of the new album to an almost-capacity crowd in what he called a “monumental” event for the city. The preview included the Toomp-produced, Chrisette Michelle assisted “Black Unicorn”; the anticipated “Used 2,” produced by Mannie Fresh; the newly released “Netflix,” which was offered as an early treat for those who pre-ordered B.O.A.T.S II on iTunes; and the album’s lead single “Feds Watchin’.”

In addition to what seemed like the whole Southside of Atlanta, 2 Chainz’ audience included quite a few fellow artists and industry heavyweights, including his G.O.O.D. Music label mate Pusha T; Def Jam execs Bu Thiam and Don Cannon; B.O.A.T.S. II collaborator Rich Homie Quan; and Stevie J and Lil’ Scrappy, along with half of their “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” co-stars.

“B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time” is due out on September 10, a year and one month after the release of 2 Chainz’ gold-certified debut “Based On A Tru Story.” The album also features appearances by Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Ma$e, Fergie, Lloyd and T-Pain.
