According to Eben Gregory, a lawsuit has been filed against Love & Hip Hop creator Mona Scott-Young  for copyright infringement , fraud, breach of contract, and breach of confidence for the idea of the “Love & Hip Hop” reality show!

Court documents claim that the original show was called ‘Hip Hop Wives‘. It was akin to other reality shows like “Basketball Wives” and the “Real Housewives” franchises. It was supposed to be centered around women who had serious relationships with hip hop stars and rappers.

The initial cast members included Tashera Simmons (the now ex-wife of DMX), Chrissy Lampkin (fiance of rapper Jim Jones), Mashonda Tifere (the now ex-wife of producer Swizz Beatz) and Debbie Lorenzo (the new ex-wife of Irv Gotti).

Umm…we so would have watched that show…just sayin!

The Love & Hip Hop people (Mona, Vh1) and all parties involved in their initial pitch meeting are being accused of  stealing the concept that they heard in that pitch meeting and then creating the Love & Hip Hop franchise as a result of the idea.

The plaintiffs claim that before their project was picked up, Chrissy pulled out of their agreement and  linked up with Mona and Vh1.

The lawsuit was filed this week and so far no word from the accused parties. But it’s reported that there probably won’t be any comments while the parties are in litigation.

Guess we will have to wait to see what is goings on!
