ESPN anchor Stuart Scott has been one of their most popular and consistent personalities in his two decade tenure.
In 2011 it was revealed that Scott was battling cancer and despite the disease going into remission in 2012, he was again diagnosed with it in January of 2014. Last night he was honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award for his ongoing battle with the illness. His recollections of his fight were nothing short of inspiring.
“When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer,” Scott told the audience. “You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”
