Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson appeared on Oprah’s “Next Chapter” recently and revealed just what it was like to be the child of the King of Pop.

Opening up to Oprah, Paris shared details of her childhood that we’ve only gotten to experience from a distance, including wearing a mask in public as a child.

“I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask,” Paris told Oprah. “I understand it now–why my dad would want our faces to be covered. Like, when we went out without him, we wouldn’t be recognized and we could have a normal childhood.”

Paris even goes on to tell Oprah that even as the child of a superstar, the 14-year-old still gets bullied by the kids in her school, but the memory of her father is what helps her through it.
