The LOX are working on their first album of new material in over 12 years, and if you remember anything about 2000′s We Are The Streets you will recall the overriding theme of the long player was their emancipation from Puff Daddy (now Diddy) and Bad Boy Records. The disdain for the shiny suits ushered in by Puff glorifying excess and wealth was palpable, the disgust for the jiggy lyrics and lack of gritty, thug rhymes they were putting out was evident, and the Notorious B.I.G. (their reason for signing to the label in the first place) was dead.

They were calling Puffy out by name on the records (even though the label made a feeble attempt to censor it) and threatening his girlfriend at the time Jennifer Lopez. Remember the “Let The L.O.X. Go” t-shirts at HOT97 Summer Jam? Anyone? They had a memorable exchange live on-air at the same radio station so why in the blue blazes would Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch even think about going back to the label they despised so much?

Your guess is as good as mine. Why not bring the whole team back? Total? Faith? Carl Thomas? Mase (snicker)? High top fades are making a comeback as well.
