nicki minaj pinkprint

Nicki Minaj dropped her third studio album “The Pinkprint” to Barbs everywhere and the reviews are in! Find out what I think about Nicki’s latest release.

1. “All Things Go”

From the first time Nicki Minaj performed “All Things Go,” it was evident the Boi-1da track is one of her most personal songs to date. “All Things Go” serves as the introduction on the “The Pinkprint.” Like her label mate Drake, Nicki raps and sings and she debuts some pretty impressive pipes on this project.

Best Lyric: “I lost my little cousin to a senseless act of violence/ His sister said he wanted to stay with me, but I didn’t invite him/ Why didn’t he ask, or am I just buggin?’/ Cause since I got fame, they don’t act the same/Even though they know that I love ‘em/Family ties broken before me/N*ggas tryna kill him, he ain’t even call me/And that’s the reflection of me, yes, I get it, I get it was all me/I pop a pill and remember the look in his eyes, the last day he saw me.”

2. “Buy A Heart”

Nicki Minaj may deny rumors that she and Meek Mill are dating, but not even the head Barb can deny their chemistry on “Buy A Heart.” It’s arguably the best song on “Pinkprint.”

Best Lyric: “Rahmeek, Imma have to tell the truth if I speak/ Unless you want to play, you ain’t say this the other day/ You said you was in love, and I still didn’t budge/ Cause I already seen how you be going in when you be in them clubs/(I’m not even sure if this is right but, it feels good)/

I could tell you was analyzing me, I could tell you was criticizing me/I could tell you was fantasizing that you would come slide in me and confide in me/ He could tell that I was wifey material/ He was liking my style in my videos.”

3. “Feeling Myself”

Beyonce and Nicki Minaj talking sh*t on one track? Hell yeah, I love it. How could anyone with two ears not? Coming off their “Flawless” collabo, Nicki and Bey tackle “Feeling Myself” and provide females the perfect anthem to ride out to with the girls.

Best Lyric: “Kitty on pink, pretty on fleek/ Pretty gang always keep them niggas on geek/Ridin’ through Texas, fearin’ for his breakfast/ Everytime I whip it I be talkin’ so reckless

He said ‘damn Nicki its tight’/I say ‘yeah nigga you right’/ He say ‘damn bae you so little but you been really takin’ that pipe’/ I say “yes daddy I do, gimme brain like NYU.”

4. “Favorite”

Singer Jeremih adds the perfect R&B flare to “Favorite,” making it one of “Pinkprints” sexier tracks. I love a good song with sex and synthesizing.

Best Lyric: “Tell me-tell me what you need, got the weed/ I’m a bad lil b*tch and I never indict her/ Get locked, I’mma write ya/ You on the road? I’mma Skype ya/ I don’t wanna hype ya/ But you a lucky nigga if my mean a** like ya.”

5. “Anaconda”

What isn’t there to love about “Anaconda?” Not only was the song a commercial hit, and stirred controversy around the booty conversation. While some fans criticized the Barb for putting her cakes on display, Nicki saw the raunchy music video as empowering. Besides obvious reasons, “Anaconda” is that jam that gets the party going and booties clapping. How about a round of applause?!

Best Lyric: This dude named Michael used to ride motorcycles/ D*ck bigger than a tower, I ain’t talking about Eiffel’s/ Real country ass nigga, let me play with his rifle/ P*ssy put his a** to sleep, now he calling me NyQuil/ Now that bang bang bang/ I let him hit it ’cause he slang Cocaine/He toss my salad like his name Romaine.

6. “Bed Of Lies”

Nicki Minaj broke up with her boyfriend Safaree Samuels and funneled her anger, pain and tears into the heartfelt rap ballad “Bed Of Lies.” It’s one of Nicki’s more vulnerable tracks and revealed problems in her relationship that humanized the Barb.

Best Lyric: “You could never make eye contact/Everything you got was based off of my contacts/You a fraud, but Imma remain icon-stat/Balenciaga’s on my boots with the python strap

You was caught up in the rush, and you was caught up in the thrill of it/You was with me way before, I hit a quarter mil’ in it/ Put you in the crib and you ain’t never pay a bill in it/ I was killin’ it, man you got me poppin’ pills in it”

7. “Four Door Aventador

The LA Times called “Four Door Aventador,” [The Pinkprint’s] most striking and innovative track.” I partially agree.

I hate to bring up Lil’ Kim at a time like this, but it’s hard not to hear the original Queen Bee when I listen to “Four Door Aventador” which is one of the reasons I love it so much.

“Four Door Aventador” is definitely one of the best songs on the junior opus beat and lyrically-wise. It also highlights Parker Ighile, a newcomer to the beat game (and brilliant British artist).

Best Lyric: “I’m in Hollywood with Shia Labeouf/ Most of you rappers ain’t eating, that diet is rough/ You want some hot shit? Send that wire to us/ I make them change their name to Diddy, retire the puff.”

8. “Truffle Butter” Ft. Drake & Lil Wayne

What do chicks love more than truffle butter? Twerking! Pops into a split. Nicki’s “Truffle Butter” is a good time; the type of song you play while you’re painting your lips red and getting ready for a night out on the town. Like her second single “Only,” “Truffle Butter” features her Young Money brothers Lil Wayne and Drake, who equally drop braggadocious lyrics over the Maya Jane Coles production.

Best Lyric: “I must have about a milli on me right now/ And I ain’t talkin’ about that Lil Wayne record/ I’m still the highest sellin’ female rapper, for the record/ Man, this a 65 million single sold/ I ain’t gotta compete with a single soul/ I’m good with the ballpoint game, finger roll.”
