Are rival fast food chains Burger King and McDonald’s going to join forces?

The home of the Whopper has reportedly asked that the two companies operate a blended restaurant for just one day. Employees from both chains would potentially sell McWhoppers – a Big Mac and Whopper fusion.

According to the NY Times:

The goal? To operate one restaurant for one day staffed by employees of both companies and selling a burger called the McWhopper, a blend of the Big Mac and the Whopper, the best-selling burgers at McDonald’s and Burger King.

Sales proceeds would be donated to Peace One Day, a nonprofit group seeking to raise awareness of the International Day of Peace, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 for the opening of its annual meeting.

The United Nations later set Sept. 21 as the day to celebrate world peace, and Burger King proposes opening the pop-up store on that day in a parking lot between a McDonald’s and a Burger King in Atlanta.

Calling a truce in the name of peace sounds like a great idea to us.

Jason Mitchell

Straight Outta Compton star Jason Mitchell did an outstanding job playing the late Eazy-E, so much so, he’s already landed a new gig.

The up-and-coming actor is all set to join the cast of Kong: Skull Island, and get this – Corey Hawkins, who played Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton, is also on board.

THR dishes:

The move will reunite him with Corey Hawkins, his Compton co-star (he played Dr. Dre) who is already cast in the monster movie. Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Toby Kebbell are also already on the manifest of the ship that takes a crew of explorers to the mysterious, creature-laden isle that is also the home of Kong, the king of the apes.

Insiders say that Mitchell will play an easy going pilot.

We can’t wait to see this! Production is set to begin in October.

Instagram Photo

A lot of dirt has been dished as hackers continue to release information from the Ashley Madison website.

Supposedly, Snooki‘s husband Jionni LaValle is one of the many men who enjoy cheating on their significant others by way of the site, but now, Snooki is speaking out against the rumors.

Via Instagram, Snooki assures the world that “he’s a stand up guy who loves his family more than anything in this world.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and daughters in west village

We never would’ve guessed that Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t want to continue filming Sex and the City after it got picked up by producers – the truth stings.

Seth Rudetsky, who starred in a recent play with SJP and her hubby, Matthew Broderick, revealed in his Playbill.com column:

“[Sarah Jessica] was reluctant to do the pilot because she didn’t really want to do a series. However, she loved the script, so she filmed it and then forgot about it. Months later she found out the show was picked up and she completely wanted to get out of it. I mean, completely. She really didn’t want to be tied down to one job because she loved going from gig to gig and being, what she called, a ‘journeyman.’”

We couldn’t imagine any other person playing the role of Carrie, so that worked out well.

NBC’s The Carmichael Show will premiere tonight at 9pm, and if our first look at the series is any indication, it’s going to be a pretty funny sitcom.

Jerrod Carmichael, Loretta Divine, David Allan Grier, and more will star in the series, which kicks off with two back-to-back episodes this evening. Check out a snippet of the hilarity you can expect above.
