Atlanta’s own India.Arie will be among the 2010 inductees into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, organizers have announced.

The annual awards show moves to a new home this year. It’ll be Sept. 11 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and will be broadcast live at 8:30 p.m. on Georgia Public Television.

“We’re excited to continue recognizing Georgia’s outstanding contribution to the music industry and will continue the awards show as we have done for 31 years,” said Dr. Bobbie Bailey, president of Friends of Georgia Music Festival. “We are also thankful to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre for holding the event and ushering the show into its 32nd year by providing a state-of-the-art facility for our inductees and loyal supporters.”

The group being honored this year includes Georgia rockers The Black Crowes, manager Charlie Brusco, Grammy winning mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore and classical pianist Charles Wadsworth.

Singer-songwriter Paul Davis and steel guitarist Pete Drake, blues musician The Rev. Pearly Brown and songwriter John Jarrard will be honored posthumously.

The event features live performances by Arie, The Black Crowes, the rock band STYX and this year’s Horizon Award recipient, Spanish-Engish singer Tyna Q.
