When it comes to dating, Gabourey Sidibe has a pretty good idea what she wants in a guy. “I like smart men,” she tells PEOPLE at the Three16 Music Showcase in New York. “Smart men with grown up jobs who share my unusual sense of humor. People might be surprised to know I have a thing for nerds too,” Sidibe, 27, says. “I am looking for someone who is so sweet, who offers to help me put on my shoes before an event.”

She also has a thing for musicians, as evidenced by her public declarations of love – or, at least, affection – for Justin Timberlake. For now, though, there’s another singer catching her eye.

“I’m super crushing on Trey Songz,” she says. “I used to listen to his music when I worked in an office, and when I met him a few weeks ago, I couldn’t contain my excitement.” During their first conversation Sidibe recalls asking the singer, “‘Now that we go to the same events, you think I’m cool, right? Do you want to date? We could just get married!’”

Last night HBO premiered Snoop Dogg’s ode to “True Blood’s” Sookie Stackhouse, the supernatural object of many a vampire’s affections.

In the hilarious video Snoop D O Gizle puts his pimp game down, proclaiming that her vampire boyfriend Bill “ain’t a true blood” and that she needs to invite her best friend Tara to join them so she can scramble his eggs.

I want to say I love Lil Kim man and I’m sorry that she’s mad. I never would have thought by me working with another artist that she would take it the wrong way but if she’s taking it the wrong way, it ain’t meant like that. Nicki has never did anything to her. She ain’t never not pay her homage. She ain’t swagger jack and say nothing negative about her. I think Kim needs to understand that Nicki as a whole, it’s always been respect. Nicki isn’t trying to be her. We still riding with Nicki and we still riding with Kim. We love and respect the days in history that we’ve had with Lil Kim but Kim is going to be an emcee. When emcees come back out, they talk crazy and do what they do but at the end of the day everyone respects Kim for being the Queen B.

That love ain’t going to never change, no matter what she say or feel. I’m always going to remember the good times and I’m not going to make any apologies for working with Nicki Minaj. Especially for someone that has never said anything negative about Lil Kim and who has always, in my eyes, paid homage to Lil Kim. She’s a different emcee. They don’t even talk about the same thing. What Kim has talked about and what Nicki has talked about, they don’t talk about the same things. Anybody that comes after Kim, or me, or Jay or whatever, people get inspired. It’s nothing wrong with her being inspired as long as she takes that inspiration and carves out her own lane. If we do ever manage her, we’ll make sure she carves out that own lane.

Nicki is Nicki, and Kim is Kim. Case closed. We’ll see how far that gets. When you go in that lane, that don’t never win.

Beyonce gets sued over her bootleg undies

As previously reported, Waka got into a fight of his own Thursday at a popular Atlanta clothing store with members of Young Jeezy’s entourage that left him with his eye blackened.

Now police report that things almost turned deadly at one of his concerts in the Midwest.

According to the Post-Tribune a hype man for Waka Flocka might be to blame for the incident. The unidentified man took to the stage at World of Skates before the rapper came and reportedly pitted the eastside of the city versus the westside.

That’s when police say fighting ensued and patrons were told to leave.

Shots were fired outside of the club leaving Shaquille Hughes, 15, shot in the right side; Marcus Ratliff, 14, shot in the right wrist; Justin Bodley, 16, shot in the leg; Junan Washington, 18, shot in left ankle; DaVonte Biddings, 16, shot once in the back; Marquel Croock, 16, shot in the stomach; Kesean Philon, 14, shot in the left leg; and Stephan Danzy, 17, shot in the left leg

One of the teens says the shooter was a Black man holding a rifle. He reportedly wore a red hat and had dread locks.

Activities for people under the age of 21 have been cancelled until further notice.

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village in New York City — with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.

D’Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said.

He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment.

On Friday, President Obama signed a renewal of the executive order that assists historically black colleges.  While the executive order itself follows the form of orders in previous administrations, the head of the Obama administration’s effort for the colleges said that the executive order would set off a change in philosophy on how the government could work with the institutions.

In his remarks, Obama noted the financial challenges facing black colleges (and just about all of higher education) these days, and also their role. “It was because of these schools that America’s middle class was filled with black doctors and educators and judges and lawyers and engineers and entrepreneurs,” he said. “And today, it’s because of these schools that one out of every two wide-eyed freshmen who arrives on their campuses with big backpacks and bigger dreams is the first in his or her family to go to college.”
