If you’re the type that likes a “girl fight,” you’re gonna have to hold your breath.

Last week, a statement alleged to be made by Lil’ Kim stated that the Queen Bee had information that would “Destroy Nicki Minaj’s Credibility & Career.” Well, it turns out that it was all a hoax.

Despite being engaged in a lyrical battle with Drake, Common still respects the “Take Care” rapper as an artist.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Common admitted: “I think he makes good music.”

This isn’t the first battle Common has engaged in (look up his classic Ice Cube diss, “The Bitch in Yoo”), but its refreshing to see he’s clearly keeping things on wax, which is how it should be in hip hop.

Common even added about Drake: “He’s definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music.”

In a move that’s totally unsurprising, Drake’s Cash Money boss Bryan “Baby” Williams (aka Birdman) is riding with his soldier, Young Money’s Drake, in Drizzy’s beef with Common.

In an interview with radio personality Big Boy, Birdman addressed the rap beef Drake and veteran rapper Common have gotten into in the last few weeks. Though he isn’t a fan of battle rap, Baby said he’s rocking with his artist.

“We’re supporting him 100% with our lives,” Baby says. “There’s no other way. Drake’s the little homie. That’s blood, that’s family. So ain’t no siding with that. It’s Drake or nothing.”

Also, don’t expect the rest of Drake’s Young Money or Cash Money family, including Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, to jump in the war of words either.

“We don’t do all that,” Baby says. “That’s not how we operate. We do our music for the people. We’ve never been a brand of diss records. That’s not us.”

The beef between Common and Drake just got real.

After Common admitted that his subliminal jabs on “Sweet” were aimed at Drake, the Young Money MC responded on Rick Ross’s recent mixtape cut, “Stay Schemin.” However, Com didn’t wait long to jump on the end of the song to send a very direct message:

“You ain’t wettin nobody n*gga/ You Canada Dry…” — Common

Over the weekend rapper Canibus added J.Cole to the list of MCs he’s had issue with over the years. What made this latest assault so bizarre is that J. Cole has publicly stated that Canibus is one of his favorite MCs and biggest influences, even playing his music at his shows. Well, it seems that is exactly what Canibus had a problem with.

In an open letter, the artist best known for his battle with LL Cool and the classic diss record “Second Round K.O.”, said he felt disrespected by Cole for not mentioning his newer work.

“Cole might say he does this to pay homage, but in reality, by him playing my older material owned by my former label dating back to 1998, subsequently overlooking my current works and contributions which directly benefit me now, he is treating me less like an artist that has, and continues to contribute, influence, and inspire an even younger generation of MC’s coming up…” (read the full letter here)

Canibus went on to add that Cole speaks about him “like he’s dead.”

The letter was followed by a diss track called “J. Clone”(listen here) where Bis calls Cole out by his government name Jermaine and replays sound bites of interviews where Cole praises him. “If it ain’t a threat, then it must be a promise / You said my name so much they think you’re being honest.”

The entire campaign wreaked of a desperate plea for attention and there was a very vocal outcry from fans and artists alike. Sean Price, who has recorded songs with Canibus on several occasions even Tweeted, “You get no points dissin J. Cole. Leave that man alone Canibus.”

Well, it appears that Canibus got the message loud and clear and issued the following apology via Youtube.

“I’ve seen thousands of comments about this J.Cole track and all of the negativity it’s stirring up, ” he says with Slick Rick’s “Hey Young World” playing in the background. “And after 48 hours of it I feel confident enough to say that it’s unanimous. Hip-Hop has spoken up loud and clear. It’s a “Cole” world right now and you’re the reigning champ, J. I take a full responsibility for my actions and I apologize for stepping over the line.”

Truth be told, Canibus’s gripe is not unique. Many veteran hip-hop artists who still record have publicly wished that fans and DJs would embrace their new work instead of living in the past. But that doesn’t mean they go and attack those who still support them. Furthermore, you have some artists like Lil Kim who have waged war on MCs for NOT paying homage in the way Cole has. What kind of message is this sending to new artists?

Fourteen years ago Canibus was the young buck “paying homage” and the old head took it the wrong way. You’d think he’d remember that. But throughout his career Canibus has morphed into this curmudgeonly, stereotypical mad rapper picking bones with everyone from Eminem, Joe Budden and Royce Da 5′ 9′ to even KRS-ONE. So the collective eye roll at this J.Cole shot seemed to finally shame him into calming down.

“I’m not a hater, I just went too far and I hope hip-hop can forgive me for my foolishness,” he concludes. “I’m gonna go sit my old ass down somewhere right now. Happy Holidays, man.”

The Beyonce vs. Keri Hilson beef is still going strong.

Back in 2008, Decatur native Keri reportedly threw shade on the “Turnin’ Me On” remix when she called Bey out on her inability to write her own lyrics; she even used a line from the hit “Irreplaceable.”

“She can sing, but need to move it ‘to the (left)’ / She need to go have some babies / She needs to sit down, she fadin’… / Go ‘head and tell them folks how long I been writing your songs / I been puttin you on, just check the credits ho.”

Three years later, Keri still shows no love for Bey.

This weekend, when on the red carpet at the 2011 Soul Train Awards, Keri was being interviewed by a magazine that asked her to hold up their latest issue. Unfortunately for them, Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z were on the cover and Keri simply handed the mag back and denied their request. Ha!

When Lil Wayne dropped the diss line “Talk about Baby money, I got yo baby money, kidnap yo’ b***h, get that how much you love your lady money” on “It’s Good” off Tha Carter IV, half the world waited on edge hoping for a response from Hov for whom Wayne was clearly aiming.

The beef all started when Jay-Z came at Birdman on “H.A.M” and it seems like he is going to end it also. MTV caught up with Jay and asked him about the beef.

He responded: “That’s sport, that’s rap music. Nothing is going to change, the only thing that changes is the participants.”

As we previously reported, Decatur’s own Lloyd recently cut his hair again and tattooed his head with a guns and roses design.

Some time after Lloyd debuted his new ‘do on 106 & Park, singer Miguel tweeted about the haircut, which led to a back-and-forth exchange between the singers on Twitter.

The feud between Miguel and Lloyd about their hair came to a head when the two were to perform on the same stage at Cleveland’s Summer Jam this week, thrown by our affiliate station, Z 107.9.

Z 107.9′s backstage snitches were on it when Miguel burst into Lloyd’s dressing room making light of his tweet about Lloyd’s haircut.

Our snitch tells us the exclusive…

“Miguel bursts into the dressing room while singing ‘The Wayans Brothers’ sitcom song… ‘We’re brother, we’re happy and we’re singing and we’re colored…’ While he laughs in greeting him. Lloyd was not laughing and immediately shut it down by asking him why he would tweet such a thing. The tension was definitely thick and the two try to hash it out but at the end… it doesn’t seem like the two will want to share a stage again.

Why? Why would you even say that, though?

Miguel:
I’m sorry, you’re right. I shouldn’t have said it on twitter… there’s no beef… It was the wrong thing to say at the wrong time.

Lloyd:
But the fact is that I was not trying to imitate you… I just shaved my head for my tattoo.

I felt like it was disrespectful… cheap and distasteful.

…this really ain’t my thing but for you to say that and bring all that kind of energy to me… My album just released so why am I answering questions about Miguel when I should be talking about my album that I spent two years working on?

The beef between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean has escalated beyond words and into car chases!

Video surfaced of Chris Brown’s alleged cousins Mijo and Trell chasing Frank Ocean down the streets of Weho while repeatedly yelling “Take the fade ni**a!”

Necolebitchie.com reports that allegedly “Frank Ocean came down to Chris’ dance studio looking for him yesterday evening but started to run once he actually saw him. Chris Brown’s boys then hopped in a vehicle and started chasing him.”

Frank Ocean avoids the altercation but things have obviously gone too far!

Lil’ Kim And Keyshia Cole Go At It On Twitter!

The BET award nominations have caused an uproar in the urban entertainment community!

Keyshia Cole and Lil’ Kim were once friends, or at least we thought so! Keyshia made it very clear on Twitter that they aren’t.

Keyshia tweeted “N while we’re addressing everything, Lil Kim and I a r not ‘friends’ I take that term very seriously. We made wonderful music. That is it.”

Lil’ Kim caught wind of it quick and replied “You got that right. We are not friends. The same way you take friendship seriously. I take loyalty serious.”

The tension stems from Lil’ Kim feeling disrespected after Keyshia Cole jumped on a track with her arch enemy Nicki Minaj. Lil’ Kim, Keyshia Cole and Missy Elliot collaborated on “Let It Go.”

Don’t expect Star Jones and NeNe Leakes to be BFF’s anytime soon. Star Jones recently appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and didn’t miss her chance to strike back at castmate Nene Leakes. If you missed it, the two got into a vicious spat in Sunday’s episode.

DeGeneres asks Jones: “What were you thinking when NeNe was going off like that?”

Star responded with:

“I was thinking my grandmother is going to watch this,” Jones says. “I was thinking I need to keep calm.”

Star then went in and compared NeNe to a feral animal: “When you’re confronted in the wild with an un-caged animal you’re supposed to retreat,” Jones says. “You’re not supposed to attack.”
