Still disappointed from the cancellation of rapper Shawty Lo’s All My Babies’ Mamas, reality lovers may be in for a better treat…BMF WIVES. That’s right, Black Mafia Family! From the late 90s to early 2000 the notorious, Atlanta-based crime organization reigned supreme in the world of hip-hop. Since their indictment on 2005, spectators have been left to […]

At its peak, the Black Mafia Family (BMF) was one of the largest drug rings in America. The crew moved obscene amounts of blow across the country from their Atlanta headquarters. In recent years BMF has gained an almost mythical stature in the hood thanks to kingpins Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” […]

When T.I. escaped hard jail time in 2009 after being arrested on federal gun charges, rumors began to surface that T.I. got off light because he snitched, but Black Mafia Family founder Big Meech is putting those rumors to rest. BMF co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is currently serving a 30 year sentence for allegedly trafficking […]

BMF (Black Mafia Family) started in Detroit, but it was in Atlanta where Big Meech and his brother turned the drug organization into a national, wholesale cocaine empire. Big Meech had become a fixture in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene, promoting BMF as a record label and showing up in videos for Young Jeezy and Bleu DaVinci. The History Channel's "Gangland" series profiled BMF in a recent episode. Watch it here!

Big Meech, the founder of the Atlanta-based multi-million dollar drug trafficking organization who was ultimately convicted of running a continuing criminal enterprise and sentenced to 30 years, has co-signed Rick Ross’s 'BMF'.

"My son was killed by the Black Mafia Family." Those nine words, spoken by a grieving mother one morning in 2004, started journalist Mara Shalhoup on a trail that, more than five years later, has led to the publication of "BMF: The Rise and Fall of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family."

In anticipation of his new album "Teflon Don," Rick Ross has just released a preview video of "BMF (Blowing Money Fast.") We're assuming the Bawse is shouting out the now defunct-Atlanta based drug dealing empire BMF (Black Mafia Family), since he mentions the group's incarcerated leader, Big Meech, in the song's hook.
