Birdman On Drake’s Beef With Common: “We’re Supporting Him 100%” [VIDEO]

In a move that’s totally unsurprising, Drake’s Cash Money boss Bryan “Baby” Williams (aka Birdman) is riding with his soldier, Young Money’s Drake, in Drizzy’s beef with Common.

In an interview with radio personality Big Boy, Birdman addressed the rap beef Drake and veteran rapper Common have gotten into in the last few weeks. Though he isn’t a fan of battle rap, Baby said he’s rocking with his artist.

“We’re supporting him 100% with our lives,” Baby says. “There’s no other way. Drake’s the little homie. That’s blood, that’s family. So ain’t no siding with that. It’s Drake or nothing.”

Also, don’t expect the rest of Drake’s Young Money or Cash Money family, including Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, to jump in the war of words either.

“We don’t do all that,” Baby says. “That’s not how we operate. We do our music for the people. We’ve never been a brand of diss records. That’s not us.”

The Game To Sign Deal With Cash Money?

The Game has plans to sign with Cash Money once his deal with Interscope ends. He says he has been tight with the Cash Money, Young Money camp since NBA player Baron Davis days with the New Orleans Hornets. Baron Davis is the godfather to The Game’s son and the rapper got tight with Birdman when he use to visit the city. “I talk to Baby everyday,” is what he told XXL Mag. The Game has one more album left on his deal with Interscope Records. He says he expects to reach a new agreement with Cash Money sooner than expected.

“We been playing with the idea of going over to Cash Money or trying to marry that and Black Wall Street,” he explained. “So, we’ll figure it out before the end of the day. I definitely think that’s where I’ll probably end up. Cause they winning, they want to win and I been winning and want to continue to win.”

The Game’s The R.E.D. Album is expected to hit stores on August 23.

The Cash Money “billionaire” talks possibly being the last mogul in hip hop and allowing Lil Wayne to take over his own career. Baby says that was the smartest move he made in his life. Check out the excerpt below.

“Honestly, I gave him the floor,” Baby says of Weezy. “He wanted it. I been with him since he was seven years old, eight years old. I been in his life all of his life, and he was like, ‘Let me handle, it.’ At the time, me as an artist, losing my sister and everything I was going through personally, I was just like, ‘Go ahead, I’ma just support what you gon’ do. You can handle it.’ And I took a step back. Probably was the smartest move I ever made in my life was to let him go ‘head.”

Producer Bangladesh isn’t happy with the folks at Cash Money Records again. The producer of Lil Wayne’s latest single, “6 Foot 7 Foot” says that he has yet to be compensated for his work on the single.

Bangladesh also produced Lil Wayne’s monster 2008 single “A Milli,” and claimed that he was never paid for that beat either.

“I f*ck with Wayne, man; I had the opportunity to give him more music,” Bangladesh told MTV News. “It’s just hard to do. It’s just hard to keep working for free.”

Bangladesh says he waived an upfront fee for the track in exchange for the chance to make another classic record with Weezy. “It’s not about the money, it’s not about me charging him for the beat, because he is Lil Wayne; he’s gonna sell albums,” he said. “You only really charge people that you think is not gonna really sell too much, so you want to get your money off top. You might not get it on the back-end because albums don’t sell no more.”

In exchange for the free beat, Bangladesh says that Weezy agreed to record a verse for Bangladesh’s upcoming album. When MTV asked why Bangladesh’s album had yet to be released, he said “It’s hard to do when I can’t get Wayne features… I don’t know if it’s the people around the situation or it’s the actual person.”

Bangladesh says he will not work with any of Cash Money’s artists again until this matter is settled. “Every time we come up with a solution, it never gets taken care of,” Bangladesh said. “I just can’t keep really giving them music.”

Earlier this week, we reported a rumor that Bow Wow had been dropped from Cash Money Records. Yesterday, Cash Money label head, Baby aka Birdman aka Brian Williams, tweeted that Bow Wow is still part of the family.

The rumors began when it was noticed that Bow Wow, who turned 24 yesterday, was not mentioned anywhere on the official Cash Money Records website.

Well that puts that rumor to bed!

All mentions of Bow Wow have been removed from Cash Money’s website, a move that we know Universal makes only after an artist has been notified that they have been dropped from the label.

Lil Wayne Attends Magnolia Shorty Funeral In New Orleans

Rap star Lil Wayne joined hundreds of people recently to mourn slain rapper Magnolia Shorty in his hometown of New Orleans.

As we previously reported, Magnolia Shorty (born Renetta Lowe) was murdered in New Orleans in December: Magnolia Shorty Gunned Down In New Orleans.

Lil Wayne, who had tweeted “R.I.P. my big sister Magnolia Shorty … this is a krazy world” earlier in the week, attended the service alongside Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Baby aka Birdman” Williams. When the family was called to step forward and view the body in its white satin-lined casket, Weezy and Baby joined them.

Magnolia Shorty was discovered by Baby and was also the second female artist to sign with Cash Money Records.

Baby came to see the teenage artist as an adopted daughter and responded to news of her murder by tweeting “R.I.P. 2 my daughter Magnolia Shorty.”

She was given her moniker by rapper Soulja Slim, who was shot to death in New Orleans in 2003. Both rappers grew up together in the Magnolia housing project.

In classic New Orleans fashion a second line followed the funeral. After the service, pallbearers carried the casket into a carriage drawn by two horses, one white, one black, as the Stooges Brass Band played “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”

Lil Wayne issued his first comments about his freedom, as he prepared to celebrate last night (November 7th) at a strip club in Miami, Florida.

The rap star walked into the King of Diamonds strip club along with Cash Money Records’ CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams and two beauties dressed in masquerade costumes.

As Lil Wayne strolled the red carpet, he couldn’t find the words to explain how it felt to be free from New York’s Rikers Island, where he spent the past eight months on a gun charge.

“It’s unexplainable, and I’m good with words. I can’t explain it,” Lil Wayne told MTV News.

When quizzed by Sway about his time behind bars, the rapper simply replied: “I forgot about yesterday.”
