Lil Wayne’s love of sports doesn’t stop at basketball and football.

The rapper is an avid tennis fan as well.

Sports Illustrated recently sent Weezy a letter asking the incarcerated rapper to weigh in on the upcoming US Open, and the rapper was surprisingly knowledgeable about the sport!

I genuinely appreciate this opportunity to express my love for tennis. One of the main reasons I enjoy the sport so much is because when I actually tried to play, it was unbelievably difficult. So ever since, I’ve been drawn to the great talents of the game. Not to mention Andre Agassi was like a pop star when I was a kid.

I love the Williams sisters. I simply adore Maria Sharadova and I’m a huge [Rafael] Nadal fan! I’m definitely rooting for him to get the Grand slam and win the US Open. He’s already became [sic] the 2nd youngest player to win 8 major titles before the age of 25. He’s halfway there to Roger [Federer's] 16. And even while battling knee tendonitis, he’s still ranked #1. His Wimbledon performance was one of a kind. He simply plays with pure passion and leaves it all out there on the court.

With [Juan Martín] Del Potro pulling out of this years Open with injury, Nadal’s only threats are obviously Federer, Djokovic, and Roddick’s aggressive play, but the player that scares me the most is Andy Murray who’s beaten Rafael four times. Even still I say “Nadal wins it all.”

And by the way, I’m giving the edge to [Kim] Clijsters in the Women’s singles due to Serena’s right foot. Again, I’m very thankful for this opportunity.

Rapper Lil Wayne and his company Young Money Touring Inc. has filed a lawsuit against a former booking agent who allegedly stole $375,000 in touring proceeds.

Lawyers for Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against Ujaama Talent Agency Inc. and the company’s owners, Erskine Isaac, David Nelson on August 16th in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

According to the lawsuit, Lil Wayne has worked with the company since the early stages of his career, by organizing and scheduling tours for the chart-topping rap star on a non-exclusive basis.

Between 2008 and January of 2010, Lil Wayne participated in four different tours with Ujaama.

A dispute broke out between the two companies over the proceeds of the two “America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” tours in Summer and Winter of 2009.

Around October of 2009, when Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to possessing a gun on his tour bus, he again engaged the services of Ujaama to book a national tour before he went to jail on Rikers Island.

During a Ustream chat last night, Drake announced that he will be throwing a “welcome home” concert for Lil’ Wayne on November 5th, the day after the rapper is slated to be released from Rikers Island.

Lil Wayne called into Funkmaster Flex’s NYC radio show from Rikers Island to share what his daily routine has been like behind bars.

The Cash Money/Young Money star has been in jail since March 8, 2010 serving eight months for gun possession. Lil Wayne admits that he doesn’t listen to much music but wants to do songs with Andre 3000 when he is released.

When asked what his typical day was like Weezy told Flex that he wakes up around noon and calls his kids and then he reads his fan mail for the rest of the day.

“I call Mack Maine every single day and I know I get on his nerves” – Lil Wayne.

It seems that neither Drake or Canadian Barbie could pull any strings to get their homegirl Nicki Minaj across the border for a show.

The First Lady of Young Money tweeted that her show in Drake’s hometown of Toronto was canceled “due to circumstances beyond her control. Canada thinks I’m dangerous.”

She didn’t elaborate on what they classify as “dangerous” but maybe they were freaked out by the straight jacket the “My Chick Bad” video.

Being in Rikers Island jail isn’t keeping Lil Wayne away from his beloved sports, as the incarcerated rapper recently weighed in on LeBron James’ move to the Miami Heat on his blog.

Oh Lebron! The recent move by the Miami Heat confirms that we will someday soon have that good ole basketball back with all due respect to the Lakers-Celtics 7 game series. This move reminds me of the days when it was Johnson, Worthy, and Jabbar vs. Bird, Parrish, and McHale, or Thomas, Dumars, and Lambeer. Well now we have Bryant, Gasol, Bynum, and Pierce, Allen, Garnett, and ultimately, Wade, Bosh, and James! Do expect this to become “protocol” to win an NBA title. Or how about Wade at the 3-point line, Bosh setting the pick, and Lebron in the passing lane. And if you collapse on them, don’t forget that Chalmers can knock down the shot. I bet that they lead the league in alley-oops. And they’re all young! Scary! Hey, what if Pat Riley returns to the sidelines and it ends up being the Lakers vs. Heat in the finals? Riley vs. Jackson! Epic! Gasol on Bosh, Ron-Ron on Bron-Bron, and Kobe on Wade… wow!

Rapper Lil Wayne owes some serious cash money to the IRS, which filed a $1.13 million tax lien against the star last month, according to Florida court records.

It’s the second monster tax problem for Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter. The IRS filed a $977,840 lien against him two years ago, but the platinum-selling artist paid it off in August 2008.

Lil Wayne isn’t going to let a little thing like being in prison keep him from releasing new music.On September 27th, the incarcerated rapper will drop I’m Not A Human Being, an EP that will serve as a prelude to the rapper’s upcoming album, The Carter IV.

Fans can expect Human Being to drop with little to no marketing, according to Cortez Bryant, Weezy’s co-manager and CEO of Young Money.

“We not about to roll out no three month set up,” says Bryant. “I’m not even putting it out in stores. We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give ‘em a hard copy later for fan appreciation.”

Weezy Orders Toya To Dump Abusive Boyfriend

After pleading guilty to one charge of drug possession, Lil Wayne has been sentenced to three years probation.

The case, which stems from a 2008 incident where Weezy’s tourbus was pulled over at a U.S. Border Patrol stop outside of Yuma, AZ, is separate from the gun charge that landed Weezy in Rikers’ Island earlier this year.

His probation will begin immediately upon his release from Rikers in November.
