Lil Wayne Reportedly Fought NFL Player Dez Bryant At Miami Nightclub

Lil Wayne and his entourage reportedly got into a fight with Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant at club Liv on South Beach in Miami. Bryant was detained by police but not arrested.

According to reports the fight was over a debt Bryant had to a firm that was linked to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports:

According to a source, the firm, which works with athletes and entertainers to help them purchase luxury items such as cars, yachts and vacation homes, is linked to Lil Wayne and his record label Young Money Entertainment.

Wayne and Young Money President Mack Maine and Cash Money Entertainment CEO Brian “Baby” Williams and their entourage were present and involved in the fracas with Bryant, the source said.

We wonder if this will affect Lil Wayne’s probation since he’s supposed to be staying out of trouble.

Big Boi Avoids Jail Time In Florida Drug Case

ATL rap legend Big Boi has reached a deal on Florida drug charges that allows him to avoid jail time.

The Associated Press reports that the OutKast rapper appeared in a Miami courtroom today as prosecutors outlined the deal. Big Boi (born Antwan Patton) will have to undergo three months of drug testing, perform community service and pay $2,000 in donations to charities.

As we previously reported, Big Boi was arrested getting off a cruise ship in August after police discovered the rapper was carrying ecstasy, a cigarette roller with marijuana residue and the ecstasy ingredient MDMA.

Big Boi had faced two felony drug charges. If he remains drug-free after three months of testing, those charges will be dismissed.

It’s no secret that rappers from around the country have been taking their talents to South Beach, turning Miami into their personal playground. However, longtime resident of Miami-Dade county Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is taking exception to everyone taking from his city but giving nothing back.

In a letter to the Miami New Times, the legendary Luke took aim at Lil Wayne, Diddy, DJ Khaled and others:

“I’ve got a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money Brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami. I’m tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community. I want to know when Lil Wayne is going to do more than show up courtside at the American Airlines Arena. Hell, it’s not like he paid for them anyway. You know he got comped.”

“This free loading and mooching of my city has got to stop. There used to be a day when out of town rappers were scared to throw their weight around Miami. It didn’t matter if they were coming from New York or Los Angeles, they knew better than to act like they owned this motherfu**er.”

Uncle Luke’s Campaign Slogan: “I’m Dead Serious”

Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell wants to make sure there’s no doubt about the sincerity of his campaign to be elected mayor of Miami-Dade County, FL. Luke unveiled his campaign slogan, “I’m Dead Serious,” yesterday during an interview on CNN.

The 50-year-old former member of the notoriously raunchy hip-hop group 2 Live Crew is one of eleven candidates running for mayor of the city. “The reason why I’m getting into this race is because Dade county politics is Banana Republican,” he said. “When I look at the other ten candidates, I see that I need to be the person running for mayor to represent my city.”

Luke plans to institute a tax on strippers, legalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, and to fight for health care and housing for the underprivileged.

Luther Campbell, aka Uncle Luke, has officially joined the race to become mayor of Miami-Dade County. Campbell recently filed the necessary paperwork to run for mayor.

“I’m dead serious,” Luke told reporters in Miami who doubted the sincerity of his political aspirations. “That’s a question [they have] been asking me since I put in my first document: am I serious? I am serious, this is no joke.”

LeBron James mother, Gloria James was arrested in Miami for misdemeanor assault.

According to TMZ, Gloria was at the Fountainbleau hotel sometime late Wednesday night partying at LIV nightclub with some of her girlfriends, but when she tried to leave the hotel, she got into an altercation with one of the valet parking attendants.

James was released early this morning.

This is not Gloria’s first brush with the law. She was arrested in 2006 for DUI in Ohio.

Lil Wayne was greeted by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) after he got off a plane at Miami’s Opa-Loca Airport in Miami early last week. DEA agents searched the rapper.

According to TMZ, the contraband search came up clean as the rapper, who is on felony probation, had nothing on him. The agents let Weezy go without any further incident.

Former rap star Luke Campbell has stepped away from the entertainment industry to help the local Miami community, as the assistant football coach at Miami Central High School.

Campbell, who is almost 50, is a former group member of 2 Live Crew, a group signed to his pioneering independent Miami-based label, Luke Skyywalker Records.

Campbell has traded his raunchy image for the assistant coaching position, where he coaches boys, both on and off the field.

“I’m happy and proud of what we accomplished but that part of my life is over,” Luke Campbell told the Bellingham Herald. “The entertainer – I left him on stage.”

The former rap star was cleared by the Miami-Dade Public School system to coach the team, after Campbell received letters of support from community leaders, parents, neighborhood kids and Central High’s principals.
