Brick Squad rapper Waka Flocka Flame stopped by Houston’s 97.9 for an interview on Wednesday.

Nnete from Houston’s 97.9 The Box Madd Hatta Morning Show interviewed Waka Flocka Flame and the Atlanta rapper, who has 4 mixtapes dropping soon, explains why he’s not worrying about releasing an official album:

Man I ain’t finna make myself hot and then have them eating off of me and then I’m just left with nothing?

Nnete goes on to ask Waka if he thinks record deals are overrated and here was his response:

Psshh Don’t You? Man, (shakes his head) folks aint cutting no checks man, …. At the end of the day, it’s on me…like one single and people saying ‘oh man, you should drop an album, you hot!’…Who? I aint finna go double-wood for ‘Oh Let’s Do It’, real talk!

Waka then mentions that he plans to make himself hot first and then use the labels to get him in movies, TV and on the radio! He later says he is just trying to learn the business right now and even makes a comparison between artists and prostitutes, saying:

“You are a prostitute. You have to sell yourself.”

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

According to the Macon Telegraph, Waka is being held in the Houston County Jail in Warner Robins, near Macon, on a probation violation.

According to the AJC.com, shots were fired, though no one was hit, during an altercation between groups affiliated with local rappers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy that closed Walter’s Clothing in downtown Atlanta for about 30 minutes.

The fight started around 4 p.m. Thursday when Mane’s group walked into the store — popular with celebrities — and spotted Jeezy’s associates, witness Patrick Morrison told the AJC.

“There was a physical altercation inside the location between several men,” Atlanta police spokesman James Polite confirmed to the AJC. One of the men produced a weapon “and as a result a private armed security guard of a local entertainer discharged his weapon.”

Polite said the security guard,  employed by Brick Squad / So Icey rapper Waka Flocka Flame, has been detained.

The fighting was intense, witnesses said. “They just started going at it,” said Morrison, a Walter’s employee. While nothing has been confirmed, various sources have reported that CTE rapper / Young Jeezy affiliate Slick Pulla was involved in the altercation as well.

“Whoever he is he’s got a big swollen eye now,” Morrison said of Waka Flocka.

Waka Flocka would later tweet:

“Shout out to shawty who ran up wit the lumps on his face that look like Martin Lawrence …… lol.”

As we previously reported, Waka was shot in the arm in January while washing his car on Old National Highway. Police said he was approached at the Bubble Bath car wash by armed men demanding his jewelry.

Meanwhile, Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, is serving time at the Fulton County jail for a probation violation. He is set to be released in May.

As we previously reported, So Icey rapper Waka Flocka Flame was quoted as saying he has “nothing to do with lyrics.” Well Method Man took offense to that and criticized Waka for saying it, although the Wu-Tang Clan rapper did acknowledge that several Southern rappers do have skills on the microphone.

As we previously reported, Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame was shot Tuesday (January 19).

According to Fulton County Police, Flocka (real name: Juaquin Malphurs) suffered a gunshot wound to the arm as he was stopped at a carwash on Old National Highway. He was rushed to nearby Grady Hospital.

A spokesperson for the rapper told Hot 107.9′s The Durtty Boyz that Flame will be fine.

Police said the matter is under investigation and wouldn’t say whether there was a suspect. Sergeant Scott McBride, a spokesperson for the Fulton County Police Department, told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that “a scuffle broke out, then shots were fired.” According to several reports, an unknown assailant tried to take the rapper’s jewelry.

The AJC reports that Waka was washing his car at the Bubble Bath Car Wash at 5220 Old National Highway around 1:30 p.m. when he was approached by an armed man demanding his jewelry.

The suspect fled the scene, going south along Old National Highway, McBride said. Police are looking for a black man, about 22 years old, with a tattoo of a dollar sign on his left cheek, and tattoos between eyebrows of two circles, three squares and two more circles, wearing a white tank-top, blue jeans and red underwear.

Flocka, part of Gucci Mane’s So Icey camp, has made a name for himself recently with the song “O Let’s Do It.” An unofficial remix of the record has hit the Net featuring Lil Wayne, Trae Tha Truth and Rick Ross. Ludacris also jumped on the record with his own version for an upcoming mixtape. Waka appears on Gucci Mane’s The State vs. Radric Davis on the track “Bingo.”

Waka was in the midst of putting together a new mixtape with DJ Holiday before Tuesday’s shooting.

In early November, Waka’s musical clique member OJ Da Juiceman said there was also a mixtape in the works with the two of them and Gucci Mane. “We actually working on a me, Gucci, Waka mixtape,” the Juice said. “[That's] half of the Brick Squad. I think me and Waka gonna do a mixtape first, then me, Gucci and Waka gonna do a mixtape together. Waka is up next.”

Today rumors have been flying regarding  Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame and a shooting and robbery in College Park.

Although details are just beginning to circulate, Twitter and other social networks are all buzzing about the shooting and speaking on their opinions.

According to sources, Flocka was shot in the arm and then was robbed of his chain at a car wash on Old National Highway in College Park.
