2013 WICT Touchstones Luncheon

Iyanla Vanzant is the latest celebrity to join the rally for justice in the wake of Michael Brown‘s shooting death.

The OWN personality has decided that she needs to go help heal the people of Ferguson, Missouri, for a very special episode of “Fix My Life.”

“My heart hurts for the family of Michael Brown and the citizens of Ferguson,”  Iyanla said in a press release. “In the wake of this tragic death, it is my responsibility as a mother, grandmother and teacher to show my support and to offer the community a chance to share its story with the nation.”

The life coach will be talking to people in the town who have been directly affected by Michael’s shooting and those caught up in the fallout from it.

Iyanla thinks that having a heart-to-heart could turn the tide of civil unrest. She explained, “I hope to provide a set of tools to begin the healing process while also promoting peaceful change.”

There’s no word on whether Iyanla will be talking with Michael’s family at this time, but they have been very vocal since his death. Besides, people do make special exceptions and accommodations for anything associated with Oprah, so it wouldn’t be odd to see them pop up on “Fix My Life.”
