R&B crooner Trey Songz recently celebrated the release of his fifth studio album Chapter V. He had even more to celebrate when he found out his fifth project had become his first album to debut at number one.

Trigga Trey visited his home state of Virginia and stopped by the iPowerRichmond radio station. He spoke to friend of the site TT Torrez about his humble beginnings in the music business as well as his response to fans misconstruing his confidence for arrogance. Trey told TT:

“If you allow people to put you in a mind space whereas though, you believing in yourself is arrogance, then those people shouldn’t affect you like that. It’s one of my favorite sayings, ‘Not to let the voice of others drown out your inner voice’ And what that means to me is that, if I don’t believe in me and I don’t believe in what it is I came to do, then who else will believe in it. You can’t please everybody.”
