What kind of world do we live in, where Elementary School children are gunned down because of one mans vendetta? Parents of students of the Connecticut school Sandy Hook Elementary are weeping after suspect Ryan Lanza opened fire on groups of adolescents, killing 20 kids and bringing the death toll approximately to 30. Apparently the gunman, who also murdered a member of his family before going on the rampage, was after his mother. She worked in the school as a teacher. She is among the dead.
Correction: Police now say the killer’s name is Adam Lanza. Ryan is his brother.
President Obama held back tears as he gave a heart-felt speech. “We’ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years. Each time I learn the news I react not as a president but as anybody else would as a parent. That was especially true today,” he said in the official press conference. “Our hearts are broken today for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of these children and the families of the adults we lost. As a country, we have been through this too many times. This evening Michelle and I will do what every parent in America will do – hug our children a little tighter and tell them that we love them,” he continued.
The shooter’s body was left in a classroom. The children’s ages range from 5-10 years old. Our hearts are deeply saddened by this massacre. We send our prayers to the family and friends devastated by this tragedy.
Should we talk about gun control laws now or later?
