We’re only half way through the NBA playoffs, and several players and teams have broken personal records and franchise for better or worse.
Most Three Pointers In a Game
The Atlanta Hawks couldn’t pull off the upset win to beat the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, but they still managed to set the NBA playoff record of launching up 44 three-point shots. The Hawks in-game 7 shot just 11 for 44 from the three-point line. Marking the shooting performance one of the worst in NBA playoff history. The Hawks became one of three to team scone the 1985-86 season to shoot more than 40 three pointers in one playoff game, however the two previous teams attempted 40 threes in overtime.
Heat Scoring Record
According to Sportnet Ticker, Lebron James scored 49 points in Monday’s Game 4 win against the Brooklyn Nets, which set a new scoring record for the Miami Heat for most point in a single playoff game. The previous franchise record was 46 points set by Dwayne Wade on April 25, 2010 against the Boston Celtics. The record also put James as the only NBA player to hold two scoring records for two different franchises.
Nets Set Franchise Record
The Brooklyn Nets shot the lights out during game 3 victory over the Miami Heat. The nets made 15 of 25 three-pointers attempts, the most by any team this post season and a franchise playoff record.
New Rebound Record
The Pacers grabbed a franchise-low 23 rebounds in Tuesday’s Game 5 defeat.
Marcin Gortat Sets Record
Wizards center Marcin Gortat became the first Wizards player to have at least 30 and 15 in a playoff game since hall of famer Moses Malone in 1987. Marcin and Dwight Howard are the only player over the players in 30 postseason with 30 points and 15 rebounds while shooting at least 80 percent from the field.
