Directed by Golden Globe nominee Ava DuVernay, Selma follows the historic civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in March 1965. Known as Bloody Sunday, the entire world watched as hundreds of people were hosed, beaten and attacked with dogs on live television.

Selma is such an important film. The film will not only teach students about the civil rights movement but it will also help them sort out the questions they may have now about current events like the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. We hope to hear of more news like this!
