It’s been three years in the making and despite being locked up not once, but twice, Chicago rapper Lil Durk’s debut album Remember My Name is finally in stores.

The 22-year-old rapper stopped by GlobalGrind to discuss his maturation and overcoming the obstacles he faced growing up in Chicago’s tough Englewood neighborhood. With all the trials and tribulations that plagued his teenage life, Durk explains important life lessons he’s learned while being caught up in the legal system.

The “Like Me” rapper also discussed his biggest fears, fatherhood, and how he’s trying to inspire underprivileged youth. On a lighter note, Durk revealed the most interesting person who’s ever slid in his DMs – Jhene Aiko.

Remember My Name is currently on iTunes. Watch Lil Durk’s exclusive interview up top.
