A coach at the University of Notre Dame is accused of coercing black basketball and football players into having sex with her daughter. The faculty member, who was a white female, was fired for violating the university’s harassment policy.
According to USA Today, the suit filed by an unnamed student plaintiff explains that the administrator ‘orchestrated, initiated, directed and coordinated a sexually and racially motivated inappropriate and demeaning relationship.’
The complainant stated that the coach would allegedly reward students academically for participating in the sexual acts. The unnamed faculty member is also accused of providing condoms, hotel rooms and transportation to facilitate the relations.
The student claims that when they attempted to end the relationship with the coach’s daughter, they were victimized by threats.
NBC News reports that the John Doe claims the university was aware of the hostile environment that the administrator was creating for black male students but ‘failed to act to remedy the situation.’
The university defended themselves in a statement to USA Today saying, ‘Allegations against the University of Notre Dame in the complaint are unfounded, as are gratuitous and unfounded references to ‘student athletes’ — an allegation that is nothing more than cynical attempt to attract publicity.’
This sounds like a hell of a lot of ‘he says she says,’ but a little too extreme to be totally made up.
