The number of HIV cases in Atlanta can be compared to that of Third World countries and are now deemed as an ‘epidemic’ by scientists.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 51 Georgians will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime.

“Downtown Atlanta is as bad as Zimbabwe or Harare or Durban,” said Dr. Carlos del Rio, co-director of Emory University’s Center for AIDS Research.
