What a great start of the Fall school year at Ron Clark Academy, as the Saving Our Cinderellas program and HOT 107.9, partnered up to inspire students with rapper/ Choreographer and mentor Atlantic Records recording artist, I am DLOW.
I am DLOW the 20-year-old Chicago rapper, choreographer, writer and producer took a look at the environment around him and decided to make a change through his music.
This past Monday October 17th and to open up the Fall Cinderella classes at Ron Clark Academy, I am DLOW joined and taught the girls within the Cinderellas program, a few of his awesome dance moves through music themes, which has placed him on the top of the Billboards charts.
With support from community partner HOT 107.9, who provided DJ Jay T, who kept the class moving and shaking to DLOW’s music. DLOW also spoke to the girls on keeping consistent with their studies.
What DLOW said, “You can never control the future…. but you got to control right now. You have to have to live right now to the fullest.”
“I played basketball for a while, it didn’t work. I started dancing… dancing was working, but not to the extent I wanted it to. Then I started making music. Music was a form of expression for me… I consistently made songs about things that played a role in my life.”
“I wasn’t predicting for the outcome to be what it was. The only mindset I had was, ‘Let me show the people what I do Let me show the people how I express myself. That’s how it started was me expressing myself.”
