On March 30, 2019, everyone will be tuned in to TV One live to watch some of our favorite actors, musicians, films and more receive much needed honors from the African American community they’ve uplifted and inspired. For the first time ever, the telecast will take place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California which is the perfect place to celebrate the amazing films that came out in 2018.

This year, “Black Panther”, “BlacKkKlansman”, “Crazy Rich Asians”, “If Beale Street Could Talk” and “The Hate U Give” have all picked up Outstanding Motion Picture nods. Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Denzel Washington, John David Washington and Steven James have earned themselves Outstanding Actor In A Motion Picture nominations while Amandla Stenberg, Constance Wu, Kiki Lane, Sanaa Lathan and Viola Davis have nabbed themselves Outstanding Actress nominations. While we await the night’s big decisions in each division, let’s take a look back at the last five years and see how well the winners in these categories have aged over time.
