The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man shot and killed while driving a $400,000 Maybach along I-20 last week as 42-year-old James D. Lewiel, known in the music industry as rapper/music executive Freeband Double D.
The AJC reports that according to a funeral notice placed in Sunday’s AJC by Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, Lewiel, of Atlanta, also went by the name “OG Double Dee.”
Double D is affiliated with Future, Rocko, Young Scooter and Rick Ross and recorded with Future’s Freebandz label.

As of Monday no arrests had been made in the killing. Lewiel’s funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Church in Decatur, with burial at Kennedy Memorial Gardens in Ellenwood. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, which is at 3592 Flat Shoals Parkway.
