Miguel was arrested for driving drunk in his hometown of Los Angeles early this morning, TMZ reports. The “How Many Drinks?” singer was busted after California Highway Patrol officers stopped his 2013 BMW X6 for speeding and tinted windows next to an L.A. freeway around 2:15 AM.
During the stop, officers noticed the 27-year-old reeked of alcohol. Police gave Miguel various field sobriety tests and he reportedly failed all of them. Miguel — full name Miguel Jontel Pimentel — also took a breathalyzer and blew a .10 and .11. The legal limit in California is .08.
Miguel was then arrested for DUI and taken to a nearby station where he was booked and released a few hours later on $5,000 bail. His booking sheet lists Miguel as 5’7″ and 140 pounds.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on September 9. Miguel and his camp have yet to respond to the arrest.
