Nick Ashford Dead At Age 70

Nick Ashford, one-half of the legendary Motown songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson, has died at age 70. His former publicist told the Associated Press that the singer and songwriter died in a New York City hospital on Monday. He had undergone radiation treatment for throat cancer.
Ashford & Simpson were known for their hit “Solid” and also penned “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “‘You’re All I Need To Get By.”
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
