Anyone who watched the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards witnessed R&B star Chris Brown hold his own in one of the Hip Hop cyphers. We’ve seen R&B artists try to rap before (Bobby Brown, anyone?), but the current incarnations (i.e. Trey Songz) actually sound pretty decent. One of the more popular Hip Hop publications seems to agree that Breezy shows promise as a lyricist. According to reports, Brown will cover the new issue of XXL magazine for dolo.
What may be the bigger story here is that Brown hired his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran to be his stylist for the shoot. Brown and Tran recently split over rumors that Breezy had rekindled his romance with Rihanna, but it has been said that Tran misses the lifestyle she enjoyed as Chris’ arm candy thus her efforts to keep him close. Congratulations to Brown on the XXL cover. I just hope this doesn’t lead to an all Hip Hop album.
