The Atlanta Braves are the 2013 National League East champions! The Braves captured their first division title since 2005 after the Miami Marlins defeated the second-place Washington Nationals.

The Braves found out they had clinched the division in the 6th inning while playing the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The division title celebration was made sweeter when the Braves held on to defeat the Cubs 5 – 2.

The Braves (92-63) have seven-games remaining in the regular season, all at Turner Field, and are still playing to win home-field advantage through the NL playoffs by finishing with the league’s best record. They were a game ahead of St. Louis before the Cardinals’ Sunday night game at Milwaukee.
