The saga continues!
Mama Joyce, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker had a full blown therapy session on Thursday’s episode of “The View.” The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars went into detail about the emotional tug of war we’ve seen play out each week on Bravo’s hit series.
Kandi’s mother kicked off the discussion by reiterating why she’s not a fan of her daughter’s fiancé.
“Well, really Todd seems like a very nice person,” she explained. “When I met him he seemed like a very nice person. But I have a problem with after his first job, which was doing the Kim and Kroy wedding, he took like two months off. Now, I come from a family of men that work. I had a problem with that, you know? And also, he said that he was using part of his savings and when you’re already to me, stepping up, I feel like you don’t need to use part of your savings to take two months off.”
In response to Mama Joyce’s statement, Todd said he’s reaching a breaking point.
“I think everyone has a breaking point,” he expressed. ”The lies, that stuff is really tough. I have a mom and it affects my mother. It affects my daughter. It affects Kandi’s daughter. The other day Kandi’s daughter told Kandi ‘I don’t like that he said he would leave you.’”
After hearing both sides to the story, host Whoopi Goldberg told Mama Joyce to mind her own business and let her daughter live.
“Now okay, you and I are minutes apart in terms of age. We don’t have time for this mess. Let her make the mistake, if she’s gonna make the mistake. You gotta let her do it. You can’t do this for her. We listened kind of to our parents, but we had to make our own mistakes. She gotta do it,” Whoopi said.
“It’s not all about…if it was just Kandi, I would agree with you,” Mama Joyce responded. “But Kandi has a daughter. And that’s who I’m worried about.”
Of course, Kandi was stuck in the middle and, as usual, she got emotional. “It is very frustrating because it’s like I love my mother to death,” she said, fighting back tears. “I do feel like Ma, you had kids too…Your mother didn’t interfere with your relationships…I just feel like you treat me like I am just stupid and I have no sense of responsibility and I don’t think that’s fair.”
No one had a change of heart at the end of the conversation, so we think it’s safe to say that the conflict is ongoing. Tell us your thoughts below.
