Cash Money Records 4th Annual Pre-GRAMMY Awards Party

With his 2013 album, Nothing Was The Same, Drake debuted at the top spot on Nielsen SoundScan’s list of the country’s top 200 selling albums with over 650,000 copies sold. He eventually surpassed platinum status, and it appears his latest album will enjoy a similarly successful debut on the charts. After releasing If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late around 12:00 am EST Thursday, Drake is projected to sell over 500,000 copies when SoundScan releases its sales chart next week.

Industry sales and projection site HitsDailyDouble.com projects Drake’s latest set will debut at the top spot on their Sales Plus Streaming chart. Billboard.com is also reporting Drake is on pace to have the second-largest sales week for an album in the past year. It would be a feat accomplished with less than four days of sales because the album was released mid-week as opposed to the traditional industry release date of Tuesday.

If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is currently available for download via iTunes.
