New Orleans rapper Mystikal is finally free after serving six years in jail for extortion and sexual battery . He was arrested in 2004 after being accused of forcing his hair stylist to perform sexual acts on him and his bodyguards after finding out that $80,000 in checks had been stolen.

In an interview with New Orleans Q93, he says “Wait til’ I shake this world up now! I want reparations! Six years off the scene for most rappers it’ll be over with. It’s about to be the beginning for me!”

Born Michael Lawrence Tyler, Mystikal was sentenced on January 16th, 2004 to six years in prison after pleading guilty to forcing his hairstylist to perform sex acts on him and his bodyguards. Two years later, he was convicted on two federal misdemeanor charges of failing to file tax returns in 1998 and 1999. He was allowed to serve his year long federal sentence on those charges concurrently with the six-year state sentence.
