A 93-year-old former Tuskegee airman is breathing a sigh of relief today after his car was recovered by police shortly after being robbed and carjacked in the same day. He was attacked on two separate occasions after he got lost driving to his daughter’s home in St. Louis. The airman, who did not want to be publicly identified, was part of a small, coveted group of Black pilots who made history during World War II by protecting U.S. bombers from enemy fire over Europe and North Africa.
