Straight out of Compton, Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson aka YG is topping the charts with his real lyrics and straight-forward personality. Far from new to the game, YG has put in years to become the over night success he is now. He created a buzz for himself while in high school on Myspace and caught the ear of record execs from Def Jam and hit the scene in 2009 with Tooted it and Booted it. The song didn’t do the numbers he was expecting but he went on to team up with Jeezy for his album My Crazy Life, which would hit #19 on the charts.
His success was short lived when he was shot three times while recording at a studio in California. Although he was down for a bit recovering he never stopped working. Now back and better than ever YG is putting out instant hits.
