Rapper Jay Z will headline a concert for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in Cleveland before Election Day.
According to Buzzfeed, a campaign aid confirmed the news that the entertainer will perform in the event that is aimed at mobilizing Black youth to turn out for Clinton in this battleground state. Ohio is one of several states that Clinton has to win in order to beat Donald Trump in this year’s presidential election.
Jay Z isn’t the only one in his family to support Clinton: His wife Beyoncé attended a Clinton fundraiser in New York City in 2015, but she has yet to perform on the former Secretary of State’s behalf, CNN noted.
In addition, rocker Bon Jovi will headline a series of concerts in Pittsburgh and Tampa, and Jennifer Lopez will appear in Miami on Saturday for Clinton, says the Associated Press. It’s no secret that Clinton’s campaign has recently relied on A-list celebs, tapping Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, John Legend and others to help engage young voters.
Talk about bringing out the big guns.
