UPDATE 1:16 pm

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed the company’s two newest additions to the iPhone family: the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 and 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus. Both the 6 and 6 Plus feature rounded edges, stronger glass, anodize aluminum backs and a whole host of new features, including retina HD.

“Today we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of iPhones,” he told audience members.

The iPhone 6 Plus has the same internal space as the iPhone 6, but at 1920 x 1,080 it boasts a much higher resolution. While it is still not as high as the resolutions of the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it is a record for Apple devices. The new phones will come equip with a new A8 chip which the brand claims is 50 times faster and 50 percent more efficient than current A7 chips in the iPhone 5S.

Much like the iPhone 5s, the phones feature a motion coprocessor that allows the decides to operate like a pedometer, measuring distance and elevation traveled. The accuracy of such measurements will be greatly increased in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus thanks largely in part to the addition of a barometer feature.

Because of the size increase, users will now be able to view their home screens in both landscape and portrait layouts.

After years of hearing our complaints, Apple has officially addressed both the iPhone battery life and camera quality issues. According to today’s event both the iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus will have a greatly increased battery life, made to withstand 11 hours of continuous video playback. As for your camera concerns, prepare to take your selfies to a whole new level.

Both devices feature an 8 MP iSight camera, true tone flash and faster aperture settings. New cameras will be able to focus twice as fast and now has digital image stabilization, making for sharper images.

It’s not just your photos that are about to get a whole lot clearer. The new iPhones are capable of shooting video in 1080p at 60 frames per second. Not into speedy flicks? You’ll also be able to capture moments in slow motion, shooting video at 120 or 240 frames per second.

According to Apple, their new devices will be second to none when it comes to social networking. The phones will support more than 200 LTE networks worldwide at speeds up to 10 megabits per second. The new generation of iPhones will be the first to support 802.11ac Wi-Fi networks, making for a speed increase of up to three times as fast.

As revealed earlier this summer, the iPhone 6 will run on iOS 8. The new operating system will feature better notifications, the ability to easily “handoff” to Macs and iPads, and the ability to see which apps are using the most battery life.

The iPhone 6 will have built-in Wi-Fi calling; Devices will now automatically hand off calls from cellular networks to Wi-Fi or visa-versa while users are on calls.

Along with new iPhones, Apple gifted us with the Apple Watch. The wearable device is, as predicted, a sleek and fashionable device which will be made available in silver, gold and rose gold with six different colored bands.

“It’s as much about technology as it is about style and taste,” Cook said.

As for it’s capabilities, Apple Watch users will be able to get the attention of their fellow users with just one click. The watch features multiple watch faces, allowing users to personalize their device.

Apple Watch will also feature new, animated 3D emojis which users can engage with by moving them around on the screen.

Apple will release two versions of the watch, one that is larger and another that is smaller, lighter and more geared toward fitness.

Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will go on sale September 19. Users will be able to upgrade to the 32GB model for just $199, the 64GB for $299 and the 128GB for $399 all with two-year contracts.

After many months of anticipation, the day is finally here.

Apple is hosting a major event today and, though they’ve said little about what they’re planning to unveil, it’s going to be big – so big the company was forced to upgrade to a larger venue. The tech giant is hosting a major event which includes a performance from U2, so you know they’re not playin’.

It is widely believed that they’ll be announcing the release of the newest iPhone, said to be larger and faster than the iPhone 5S. According to CNN, the phone’s screen will measure 4.7 inches wide and 5.5 inches long, making it a whole four inches larger than the iPhone 5S. The new phone is rumored to have a stronger screen, be water resistant, and have better gaming capabilities – say goodbye to the days of slow games and cracked screens, y’all.

The company may also grant us a look at a new smartwatch, their first attempt at wearable devices. Users will reportedly be able to use the device without their phones nearby. It’s also believed to be more fashionable than other smartwatches currently on the market.

Apple is also rumored to be working on a mobile payments system that will be more user-friendly than others. Not only will it be easy for us regular folks to use, it’s said to be designed to be easy for store merchants to adopt.

Expectations are high, and rightfully so. According to Apple software head Eddy Cue, the company has “the best product pipeline that I’ve seen in my 25 years at Apple.”

Hopefully they’ve also got something to say about the Emoji update we’ve been waiting for for months now. *Insert side eye emoji*
