DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey Mann was arrested Saturday night on charges of indecency and obstruction, after police found Mann in Piedmont Park allegedly committing lewd acts in the park. According to police, when officers became aware of Mann he began exposing himself and making inappropriate motions. When they tried to approach Mann, the officers said he ran across 10th Street to a residential area of Midtown, and then turning down Argonne Street before surrendering.
Atlanta police have not commented on the arrest, but say the investigation is ongoing and not to judge the DeKalb County Sheriff until all the facts are in. Mann has served in the depart for 10 years. He also served U.S. Air Force from 1981 to 1985.
