The Prosecution Finds A New Lead!

Ghost is mad as hell right now! He’s rightfully upset that his star lawyer Proctor got the boot and now he’s stuck with Terry whom he is really not that fond of at all. Terry eventually gets his client to calm down by telling Ghost he is his only hope in saving him from the needle. Terry explains to Ghost that his asset forfeiture hearing is coming and up and that the prosecution is planning on linking something they found in his financial records to the case.

Terry asks Ghost if there is anything in his financials that they should be worried about ? Ghost tells him that Tasha is in charge of the finances and that there is no need to worry. Now that leaves only one more possibility and that is a Rico case. In order to get a Rico charge, the prosecution has to prove that the business Ghost was running with Tommy is a criminal enterprise. Ghost looks as Terry and tells him:

The prosecution of course sees things very differently and that is very unfortunate for Ghost.

Saxe and Mak interrupt a discussion going on between Mike and Angela (we will come back to that) excited about some good news. They found evidence of a check for seven figures that Tommy wrote out to Ghost’s nightclub Truth after they severed their business ties. They don’t know what it is for exactly but they think the payment could have been for killing Greg making it a murder for hire. Upon hearing the recent revelations Mike was like:

Now if the prosecution can make their argument stick and prove that Ghost used his club in a murder for hire they can pursue a Rico case.

Angela Knows The Truth!

After reviewing the surveillance footage and seeing that Ghost didn’t hide the gun, Angela comes to her senses and believes he didn’t do it. She first expresses her doubt with the prosecution’s case to her sister Paz. She wasn’t too receptive of hearing Angela say that she thinks Ghost is innocent of course.
After Angela explains to her why she feels the way she does, Paz eventually sees the light and puts her hate for Ghost to the side. Paz tells her in spite of her feelings for Ghost that she should do the right thing if she knows he’s innocent

Now that her mission is clear, it’s time for her to get the new findings out to the team. Unfortunately for Angela she decides to talk to the wrong person first. Remember that discussion we spoke of between Angela and Mike earlier? She tells Mike that she looked at the surveillance tape from Truth and nowhere on it does she see Ghost hide the gun and that she thinks the man is innocent. Mike immediately looks at Angela like:

Angela wants to tell Mak about what she saw but Mike immediately shuts all this talk about Ghost being innocent down cause we all know why.
He basically feels like Kanan when it comes to this matter and there aint a damn thing that is gonna convince him other wise.

Well since that approach was a dead-end, Angela decides she has no choice but to talk to Proctor about her new findings. Deep down we know she’s probably salty as fuck she has to do this.

Proctor now has plenty of free time since he is no longer working the case and decides he’s going to use it to spend quality time with his daughter.

Their adorable lunch session is interrupted by Angela who desperately wants to talk to Proctor. Of course Proctor shuts that shit down immediately but his daughter has the final say and gives him permission to step away from lunch.
Angela tells Proctor that she watched the surveillance footage and that he was right about the gun.Proctor was pretty much like:

Proctor basically calls the situation what it is and that is a frame job. Angela is willing to play ball but tells Proctor she can’t accuse her team of framing Ghost until Ghost tells her everything. Proctor tells her if she really wants to help Ghost, she has to get in contact with him directly and contact Silver ASAP. Angela thanks Proctor and extends her hand for a handshake, Proctor leaves Angela’s ass hanging and she so deserved it!

Proctor isn’t here for it and we appreciate him for letting Angela know that. BUT things are slowly coming together and operation save Ghost is picking up momentum. Taking Proctor’s advice Angela meets with Ghost and Terry to get the truth.

Ghost reveals some poignant information about that fateful night when Greg was murdered. He tells Angela that he was there in the apartment that night. He divulges that he went there to look for a recording that Greg said he had implicating Angela as the mole. Angela was still hesitant to believe him but it’s when Ghost points out the phone that wasn’t there before and breaks down intricate details she would only have known that night when she stopped by.
Terry then gets straight to the point of her being there and asks Angela what can she do for them? It is here Angela is officially coming to her senses and she reveals her team’s plan to introduce the seven-figure check they found as evidence of payment for Greg’s murder. Upon hearing Angela’s information,Terry immediately requests some private time with his client. Terry is not too pleased to hear about this check because it could mean collusion and that will lead to a rico case.Ghost calmly explains the check to Terry as just a loan that was used to pay the security firm that he used for his three nightclubs,
Terry also mentions that Tasha may have to testify at the hearing and Ghost is not to receptive of that idea. Terry explains to Ghost that it’s not their main option but it’s a possibility she will. BUT at least now they are now going into this hearing prepared after Angela revealed some key information to them.

Tony Teresi Plots His Revenge !

Tony Teresi is still bitter after Ghost shut down his extortion plan and won’t let him see Tommy. Instead heeding Ghost’s warning and moving on from the situation, Teresi decides he’s gonna get his revenge on Ghost.

In order to do so he brings in another person who is just as salty as he is.That person is none other Marshal Williams (Charlie Murphy), he hates Ghost even more now because they got his crooked ass transferred. Teresi uses their mutual hate for Ghost to enlist the Marshal’s help in exacting revenge on Ghost. Ghost can’t catch a damn break at all, now he has even more to worry about while he’s behind bars. Marshal Williams would definitely love another crack at Ghost and Teresi just gave it to him on a silver platter.

But what exac;ty is Teresi up too? This whole situation sounds fishy as hell, there is definitely more to Teresi;s madness.

The LaKeisha Factor!

LaKiesha is officially lost in the sauce when it comes to “playing in the snow”. She confirms how head over heels she is for Tommy during some after sex pillow talk. They cover a range of topics from blunt rolling to her shop and possibly losing it. Tommy tells her that yes things at the moment are looking bad but he promises her that things will eventually go back to the way they were.
For the moment that’s all she needed to hear for reassurance. The two get back to smooching but are interrupted by Tommy’s phone going off. It’s a text from Tasha telling Tommy that Proctor is off the case and that she may have to testify. Damn after all of that shit Tommy told Keisha about being cool, it now looks like they really do have to be worried. While reading the text, Keisha is pouring her heart out to Tommy, she mentions that this is all new to her and that she never had a good guy she kick it with. She crosses a line though when she brings up Holly and not wanting to make the same mistake she did that resulted in their “break up” and her not coming back.

Holly is Tommy’s trigger word and he immediately freezes at mere mention of her name. After he snaps out of his weird state he plays it off as if he never heard what Tasha said. With pressure now mounting on him Tommy goes to have a conversation with Proctor with the recent turn of events in the case.

Tommy is already on one when he links up with Proctor and wants answers immediately. He’s not to happy about Tasha testifying because Tasha and Keisha are involved in the “family business” just as much as everyone else. This all new information to Proctor and he is baffled as to why he wasn’t told about this in the first place? Tommy tells him he was a need to know basis. Proctor tells him that if Tasha testifies she could be blindsided cause they have no idea what the prosecution knows about their finances. Proctor tells Tommy if the prosecution knows about the drug money and the weave shop all of them are toast .

Speaking of LaKeisha she accidentally lets the cat out of the bag when it comes to her and Tommy. While helping Tasha pick a dress to probably testify in, she can’t contain the fact the Tommy has her dickmatized. She doesn’t say his name but Tasha figures it all out once Keisha states that her new thang is a “white boy with flavor”. What Tasha also notices is that her girl is head over heels in love and she knows this can be a disaster if Keisha gets her heart-broken.
Tasha finally catches up with Tommy and she talks to him about Keisha. Tasha gets to the point immediately and wants to know what exactly is going on with Keisha. Tommy was like:

Basically admitting to blowing Keisha’s back out, Tasha tells him that he has to be careful not to break her heart. Tasha is worried that Keisha could become a woman scorned and act irrationally if Tommy keeps giving her that good loving and plays with her heart. Tasha is surprised at the fact that Tommy is messing around with Keisha because he usually goes for red heads. She asks him about Holly and he finally comes clean to Tasha about what happened to her.
Tommy tells Tasha that he killed Holly, but had he known she was pregnant he would have never killed her. Tasha is taken back by Tommy’s confession but understands he did what he did to protect the family. Tasha then tells Tommy that he has to basically do the same when it comes to Keisha and go along with her feelings to protect the family.

The Return of Simon Stern!

An old foe that Ghost thought he has gotten rid of returns at the most convenient time when Ghost is down on his luck. Ghost get’s a surprise visit from Simon Stern and honestly we thought we seen the last of him after his own wife and Ghost set him up good. Stern is there to offer Ghost an olive branch in the form of financial assistance after he learns of the feds freezing all of Ghost’s assets. Of course Ghost doesn’t want or need help from Simon and is like:

Simon is a persistent guy and doesn’t take no for an answer it seems. So he approaches Tasha during recess at Ghost’s asset forfeiture hearing and makes her the same offer that he made Ghost. Playing the whole he feels sorry for Ghost card, he tells her he knows about their financial woes. Tasha is like:

Stern leaves Tasha his card and tells her to call her if she changes her mind. Hmmmm we wonder what game he is trying to play here.

Terry Pulls A Surprise Move In and Out Of Court!

Ghost already doesn’t like Terry and if what we are seeing brewing between Terry and Tasha is a connection then he’s going to hate him even more. You didn’t have to be in the room with them to feel how thick the tension between these two is. Right off the bat you could sense it when Terry went over to the St.Patrick’s residence to talk to Tasha about the case.
Terry informs Tasha about the asset forfeiture case coming about and that he’s either gonna need Ghost or herself to testify. At the mere mention of the idea Tasha was like:

Terry explains to her that yes they would be giving up spousal privilege by her testifying but he would make sure the prosecution stays in line when they cross-examine her. He ends the meeting by telling Tasha that he is sure that she can do anything if she puts her mind to it. Tasha is dead ass looking at Silver like:

Oh the seed has been planted by Terry and it is quickly sprouting! With that said it’s time to head to court for this hearing. Tasha and the kids show up and she looks ready to testify and get it over with.

Terry throws everyone for a loop in court when instead of calling Tasha to testify he calls up his client Ghost instead.

The surprise move initially works in Terry’s favor they were already prepared tor the prosecution to bring up the check and had an early counter. Ghost looked and sounded like just an ordinary family/business man who borrowed money from a friend.

The prosecution was stunned by the move but definitely had something up their sleeve to counter Terry’s move as they feel they still have the upper hand. Mike agrees with that assessment and says he knows how to get Ghost while they still have the opportunity to cross-examine him.

After a brief recess it was Mike’s turn to dig into Ghost and boy did he do that. Things quickly go down hill for Ghost as Mike gets underneath his skin as skillfully paints Ghost as Greg’s killer. As Mike continually picks and prods at Ghost he gets more and more frustrated. Mike gets him to the point that he screams out in court that he did not kill Greg, Mike quickly points out and asks how do you know the victim well enough to call him Greg? That definitely did not look good for Ghost and Silver.

Ghost and Terry link up for a meeting following their poor showing in court and Ghost is of course furious at what happened at the hearing. To add even more pressure on Ghost, Terry tells him that he will need more money to help pay for the team that he will need to help Ghost. Unfortunately Ghost informs him that he doesn’t have any more money. Oh this is not looking good for Ghost at all.

Dre Slips Up!

Julio is falling out of Tommy’s good graces recently and Dre is on the rise but tonight it looks like he will be getting some evidence he needs to help is his cause. We catch up with Julio during a signature Power sex scene where he is literally having sex all over his apartment. The session is interrupted by multiple texts complaining about one Cristobal getting more product than them. Julio’s “girlfriend” drops dime on Dre and tells him that Dre has been meeting with Cristobal at the club and that raises Julio’s suspicions. She also informs Julio about Dre’s new hole-in-the-wall spot since the club has been shut down.
Tommy also now has an issue with Dre as well thanks to Riq. During a conversation about Riq having sex with Destiny, Riq lies and tells Tommy that Dre took him to the party.

That definitely didn’t sit well with Tommy who after having high praise for Dre’s smart idea about the spot, brought him back to earth for not revealing that information about Riq. Dre of course denies it and tells him he doesn’t know what Riq is talking about, Tommy warns him to run any family business by him immediately from now on or else. Now here is where Dre really messes up, Kanan pops up to new spot to meet with Dre and pick up his final payment from him. Dre once again insists that Kanan stops messing with Riq for both their sakes. Kanan of course isn’t trying to hear it and even confirms a link-up between him and Riq while he’s talking to Dre.
While they are talking Julio shows and guess who he sees talking to Dre? Yup that’s right he sees Kanan in the office.

Ohhhhhh boy we can’t wait to see how this is going to play out in the coming weeks cause this is an explosive revelation.

Ghost Goes Berserk On Marshal Williams!

Ghost didn’t have a stellar day in court so the perfect place to let off some steam is in the weight room hitting the heavy bag. His workout session is interrupted by his “friend” Marshal Williams,Ghost wants nothing to do with what’s about to go down and tries to go back to his cell.

Williams blocks Ghost from leaving and proceeds to talk tremendous amounts shit about Ghost’s family and even talks about sleeping with Tasha. Ghost has heard enough and had enough and decides he’s has to whoop Marshal Williams ass.The two get into an intense battle and remember the camera in the room doesn’t work so no one except those involved in the set-up knows this fight is going on. Ghost eventually gains the upper hand and grabs a weight and smashes William’s face to a bloody pulp.

Instantly we are thinking how the hell is Ghost supposed to get out of jail now? Then in comes Biscuit and Teresi. They immediately see the aftermath of what a weight can do to a human face, Biscuit pulls out a knife and is about to take out Ghost. Not so fast though, Teresi surprises Biscuit by putting him in a headlock and strangles biscuit to death. Teresi decides to help get Ghost out this messy situation instead of letting him suffer.

He tells Ghost to get out his bloody jumpsuit and switch with Biscuit. They make it look like Biscuit killed Marshal WIlliams and then hung himself because he didn’t want to do a life sentence.

Teresi now has leverage on Ghost all over again and he basically just saved Ghosts life!

Ghost Is Free Man!

That fight scene between Ghost and Williams was intense and our emotions are all over the place. What happens next also gets us hyped as well. The prosecution has no idea why they are in court but they are about to find out exactly why. It would seem the defense has requested a motion to dismiss the case and call up a special witness and it’s none other than Angela Valdez. The prosecution is stuck looking like:

Angela decided to take matters into her own hands and do what’s right after her team continues to ignore the truth. She is even willing to face the fact that her job is on-the-line by her testifying against her team. Silver wastes no time and asks her to disclose what she knows. Angela immediately brings up the fact that she told Mike about the surveillance footage and he chose to ignore it and chose not to share it with the defense.

Angela also dropped dime on Mak telling the judge she told him about the doubt she had that Ghost was guilty and he responded by keeping her out of strategy on the case. Angela even said that she most definitely feels that Ghost is innocent and not responsible for the death of the Greg.

Terry pretty much doesn’t have to ask anything else at the point and rests. Mak who is clearly pissed the hell off tears into Angela and asks her about her sexual relationship with James. At this point things are getting extremely messy and the judge has heard enough. Judge Tapper tears into Angela and the prosecution team for making a joke of this case with all their careless handling evidence. He looks at Ghost and apologizes to him and tells him that he has no choice but to dismiss the charges against him.

Ghost is finally a free man and it’s all thanks to Angela for putting her neck on the line and doing what’s right. A very noble move on her part.

Ghost being free sets off a series of actions into motion and they all will bring drama. Terry stops by Ghost’s apartment to talk with Tasha about what to expect now. The conversation begins to get all weird again like the first one but this one you can clearly tell that there is some sort of chemistry brewing between these two.

The meeting ends with a very strong hug and a stare, Silver leaves Tasha with a card and tells her if she needs anything to call him. Oh we are sure she will be calling Terry for than just advice at this point. Once Terry leaves, Tasha gets the card Simon Stern gave her and gives him a call. Looks like she will be using that life line he gave her. Two things Ghost will be very upset to find out about when he gets back home.
Angela is taking the walk of shame in her office as she is now suspended and possibly facing termination for her actions. She gets in the elevator and as soon as the doors are about to close Mike gets on the elevator with her. Can you say awkward?

Once they reach the main floor Mike grabs Angela and tells her all she did was just let a killer get off. The audacity of this man Mike smh. Angela responds by saying that the real killer is out there and she is not going to rest until she catches the person responsible for Greg’s death.

Another thing that happened was Teresi using his leverage on Ghost now that he’s free man again.

Teresi tells Ghost to give Tommy a cell phone to call him and threatens to snitch on him if he doesn’t comply. Ghost is curious and asks if Teresi knows Tommy father or something? Teresi replies by saying something like that, basically confirming what we all suspected, Tony is Tommy’s dad.

Speaking of father and son, Ghost’s son just got himself into a world of trouble again. He shows up at Kanan’s borrowed apartment expecting to see Kanan there waiting.

Instead he was greeted by Jukebox and she wasn’t there to sip lean with young fool.

Kanan walks in looking for Riq and sees Jukebox, she has the phone Kanan gave Riq to keep in contact with him.Jukebox tells Kanan that Ghost is a free man and now they can go through with the plan to kidnap Riq and hold him for ransom. The plan is to get Ghost to pay and they still kill the both of them, the episode ends with Kanan asking Jukebox what does she need him to do?

Listen next week can’t get here soon enough cause we already hyped! Be sure to check in back with us for our full recap of next weeks shenanigans on Power!
