Atlanta City Council seeks more details on affordable housing plans
The Atlanta city council is working on a strategy for affordable housing. Council members Michael Julian Bond and Natalyn Archibong introduced legislation to encourage developers to build affordable housing if the city sales them vacant lots for $1. Housing advocate Matthew Cardinale says a similar plan worked in Arkansas where rent is around $400/month.
Senate blocks proposal to repeal and replace Obamacare
Efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare got smashed yesterday in Washington D.C. Senators voted down the bill 57 to 43 that would’ve replace the affordable care with a more restrictive plan. 9 Republicans voted no including Senator John McCain. Later today senators will vote on a repeal only bill.
