Episode 6, of The Walking Dead, titled “The King, the widow and Rick” breaks this season’s trend action-filled episodes and dials it back. Tonight’s episode opens up with each of the camps communicating with one another via letters filling each other on how the war with The Saviors is going.
We learn that according to Rick the plan is working and that its main goal was to successfully cut off The Sanctuary’s supply route. That does seem to be the case based on the events that took place on last weeks episode where the workers decided to voice their frustrations. The reaction to Rick’s word doesn’t invoke a spirit of togetherness as members of the team decide to handle things their own way.
King Ezekiel is still on down and out after witnessing his men getting slaughtered and his pet tiger getting ripped to shreds by walkers.

They both know just how brutal they are and honestly, they don’t deserve any sympathy from anyone. Maggie decides for now that they should be held outside the gates of The Hilltop rather on the inside. Jesus decides to gives his “prisoners” turnips of all things. Maggie isn’t too happy to learn about Jesus giving away food that they can’t really afford to give away. Especially to a bunch of people who tried to kill them not too long ago.
After much deliberation and some conversations with punk ass Gregory, Maggie decides to let the captured Saviors live. Maggie feels they can be used as bargaining chips and decides to throw them in a makeshift prison. For good measure, Maggie throws Gregory’s traitorous self in the prison with them. Maggie’s decision doesn’t sit well with Aaron who is still grieving over his boyfriend’s death.

While on the road Michonne can hear some loud classical music in the background. They stop the car to investigate the source of music.
They’re investigating leads them to two Saviors rigging tother a special truck decked out with massive speakers called the fat lady. The Saviors are cooking up a plan to use the truck to attract walkers, they also have some munitions they are planning to use against Rick and the survivors as well. Michonne and Rosita know they must not allow that truck to leave and tries to stop them. In what was the all the action we got, it was an intense battle that even had Rosita take a Savior with a rocket launcher.

Rick decided to convince Jadis to join his side in the fight against Negan. Rick points out that The Saviors are loosing and that he’s willing to forgive Jadis and her people of the junk for trying to kill him last time. Rick’s offer still doesn’t resonate with them and they decide to toss Rick into a shipping container naked. Rick seems oddly patient as if he knows hell things will work out for him eventually.
Meanwhile, his son Carl is out looking for that guy his dad scared off in the season premiere. Carl finds the survivor named Siddiq and offers his friendship in the form of water and food. In return, Siddiq gives Carl a lesson in spirituality telling Carl he kills walkers to “release them”.
