10 Trends That Would Be Cool If They Came Back In Style Today

Fashion always has a way of making a comeback. Things that were cool 20 years ago were considered lame 10 years ago, but are deemed vintage today. Remember when the good fashion folks on Tumblr made chokers cool again? Sure, the Kardashians took credit, for it, but ultimately, it’s the kewl kids who influence the influencers.

With so many options to choose from these days —thanks in large part to the Internet — style has become objective and all over the place.  But there are a few things from the 90’s and 2000’s that we can all probably agree would be fire if they came back in style today.

Velour Tracksuits

With the Polar Vortexes and below freezing weather we’ve been experiencing over the years, why not stay fashionably warm in a Velour Tracksuit?

Flip Phones

Before the days of leaving folks on “read”, you could easily express your disdain for them by slamming that flip phone closed, mid conversation. Besides, Iphones cost the same amount as rent these days.

Don’t sleep on Heelys. If you can rock the Kanye West-esque dad shoes, why not wear some that you can skate in as well?

Not everyone is a fan of wearing lipstick all the time. Sometimes you just need an au naturale beat. Frosted lip gloss will allow your natural skin to glow while letting your lips do all the beauty work.

Unfortunately, it takes things like Trump’s Presidency for Black Pride to be as high as it is today. Black folks have reconstructed their self image and are now letting their full beauty shine unapologetically. Rocking afros again would be the icing on the Black Magic cake.

Even men wear skinny jeans these days. But remember a simpler time when your jeans didn’t allow people to see everything you have in your pocket? Baggy jeans may have gone out of style for a while, but comfy and cool never will.

Drake’s 2000’s party reminded us that Jersey Dresses weren’t so bad after all. As a woman, you can prove that you’re kinda into sports — but make it fashion.

Before people were known by their Instagram name, all you had to do was look at their name belt to know who they are. It doesn’t get more millennial than having your name on your clothes.

Back in the day, you knew that the weather was starting to break when girls would pull out their tube tops. Who needs straps on their shirt anyway?

Yes, foot jewelry was a thing. You can make any Instagram photo pop this summer when your leg is drippin’ in ice. Or gold.
