Uh oh. According to TMZ, Nelly owes the IRS over $2 million in unpaid taxes.
“He’s also got state tax trouble — earlier this year, the Missouri Department of Revenue said the St. Louis rapper owed $149,511 in unpaid state taxes from 2013,” TMZ reports. “He originally owed a mere $113,533 … but interest is a bitch.”
Sound familiar? That’s because Nelly isn’t the only one to run into trouble with the Internal Revenue Service. Here are other famous folks who have been in hot water with the government agency.
1. Nelly

Wesley Snipes has had countless troubles with the IRS, which resulted in jail time in 2010. He was released in 2013. “During 1999 through 2001, Snipes avoided $7 million in taxes,” Forbes reports.
3. Lil Kim
Lil Kim failed to pay four years of taxes, which resulted in a $126,725.12 federal tax lien in 2014.
4. Lauryn Hill
Lauryn Hill’s had tax troubles for some time now, and has even done jail time as a result. In July, Bossip reported that the singer most recently owes $438,221, according to obtained reports.
5. Swizz Beatz
Bossip reports that the IRS recently filed a lien against Swizz Beatz for $280,000 that he owes in back taxes. He also reportedly owes $88,662.94 for 2014.
6. Kelly Rowland
In 2010, The Detroit News reported that the IRS filed a $98,634 lien against Kelly Rowland with the New York City Register.
7. Toni Braxton
The IRS hit Toni Braxton and her ex-husband Keri Lewis with a lien for unpaid taxes totaling $396,330.26 for 2007 and 2008. Her debt has since been cleared, according to The Jasmine Brand.
8. Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne reportedly owes $6,311,132 for 2012 and $5,843,952 for 2011, according to The Source.
9. Nas
The state of Georgia hit Nas with a tax lien, according to a report from The Jasmine Brand back in March. At the time of the report, the rapper reportedly owed over $145,000 in unpaid taxes.
