Lil Wayne's sentencing has been delayed until March 2 due to dental surgery, his attorney announced in a Manhattan courtroom today. The rapper was scheduled to be formally sentenced by a judge and begin serving his one-year term stemming from a 2007 arrest that resulted in a guilty plea in October for attempted weapons possession.

Lil Wayne's life revolves around a daily regime of "SportsCenter," studio time and sweets. But on Tuesday (February 9), the Cash Money lyricist will be formally sentenced to prison after he struck a plea deal with Manhattan prosecutors stemming from a 2007 arrest in New York on gun charges.

His New Orleans Saints just won the Super Bowl, but Lil Wayne will have to miss the big victory parade in his hometown this week. On February 9, he will begin serving eight months at New York City's notorious Rikers Island prison due to his 2007 gun charge in Manhattan.
